If there was any doubt remaining that fashion is having a 90s moment, you might want to check out these 'distressed canvas' lo-top Chuck Taylor trainers that are making a bit of a comeback at Converse:

The shoes are entirely reminiscent of the battered old trainers that long haired girls (and boys) used to wear along with their oversized mesh jumpers and floor-length skirts, and they're available to buy in three different shades: grey, pictured above, pale red or black, all priced at £50. I like the fact that these colours are all picked up again in the soles.

Net-a-Porter has just ordered in a shipment of these shoes, which is a sure sign that these more lived-in fabrics are going to be having a bit of a moment - in footwear as in all other areas of our wardrobes. Of course, you can always get the same effect by pulling out a pair of Chucks you might have been harouring since the 90s!
