Free People's summer sale is one that's grabbed my attention this week - not least because it includes some really interesting and unusual shoe styles that I hadn't noticed earlier on in the season. Styles like this one:

I love the perforated leather in this zingy pale lemon yellow shade, but it's also available in a more trad-looking tawny leather for those who fear the brights. The heel is actually metal plated (which makes a change from many of the shiny-heeled shoes that simply have a piece of sticky back foily paper that invariable gets scratched off) which gives them a hard edge and a look of obvious quality. 

The silhouette of these shoes is so hot it hurts, thanks to the double buckle strap and catwalk-inspired built-up section around the heel. Combined with the slender toe strap and understated single sole, these are very much a style to flash in summer 2013.
