It's that time again: the John Lewis homepage has gone a lovely shade of red, and thousands of items have been swept into its legendary mid-summer clearance sale. There's plenty going on in the footwear clearance department, and I've already spent a large chunk of the morning checking out offers that will help me continue to furnish my summer wardrobe.
Here are a few of our hottest-tipped clearance shoes!
Whistles Chi Chi sandals £95 (was £155) >>
First up is this striking sandal style; one of my current favourites from Whistles. The tomato red heel and chestnut leather straps are very much in keeping with this season's catwalk-led trends, and there's even a flash of metallic bronze at the front for that little flash of futuristic. A nice saving, too: getting the price tag down below the £100 psychological barrier is definitely a smart move for many shoppers!
Clarks x Eley Kishimoto geometric print pump £35 (was £69) >>
Next up is a piece from Eley Kishimoto's recent collaboration with Clarks. I like the monochrome print best out of this selection as it's so eye-catching but still easy to match with much of my wardrobe - and the reduced price makes this style a far more attractive proposition. Love the slightly pointed toe and sloping heel on this shoe.
If you're looking for something elegant that will work at summer weddings and parties, there's a good selection of occasion shoes from Dune in this sale, many reduced by around 30%. I'm personally rather fond of these pale pink leather slingbacks, as I love the oversized bow with its contrast, dotty embellishment. It gives the shoes a real sense of fun, with a quirky attitude that's often lacking in this category of shoe.
If you're a fan of the superga-style flatform trainer look you'll love Kurt Geiger's Leo, which is a very similar style with its own personality and KG branding: it has silver star eyelets, which I can't help but love. This is one of the biggest reductions in the selection, as the price has been slashed from an original £65 to just £19 - so if you've been sitting on the fence of the flatform look, now could be your time to try it!
Also going down the flatform route is this tan and blush pink sandals from the store's own label. I think this shoe is particularly on trend and youthful-looking for the JL brand, and it really taps in to that Marni-esque aesthetic that's so prevelant just now. I also bet it would be a super easy shoe to scoot around in on holiday, and again the reduction is very good.
Last but definitely not least, Steve Madden's take on the shoes-without-heels trend is reduced by 50%, bringing the price down the lowest I've seen it anywhere. A statement making, studded shoe with heaps of attitude, this is a buy that will see you right into party season in attention-grabbing style.
