I have to admit that Playboy isn't a brand I generally pay much attention to, but credit where it's due, and given that this is a blog about shoes, I think it would be remiss of me not to point out the cuteness that is this flip flop pendant, which you can find at ASOS for £18. I could do without the playboy logo, of course, but the pendant itself would make a nice gift for a fellow shoe lover. Or, of course, for yourself...

Touch up scuffs on your leather shoes with these handy Polish Pens by Foot Petals. Designed to be small enough to keep at your desk at work or in your handbag, these applicator pens allow you to touch with small scuffs before an important meeting. Unfortunately they only come in two colours - black and brown - and retail at $40 for the pair, but they are a handy buy for someone who's often in meetings and don't have time to give their shoes a good polish before that important meeting.

I am the biggest fan of heel cushions. Why? Well when you first break in a shoe, I find that the heel always rubs up (or cuts into) the heel of my foot. There is nothing bandaids can do for more than an hour or so because they just don't provide much resistance to a new and stiff shoe which hasn't had time to mould to the shape of your foot and the way you walk. This where these heel cushions come in. They stick to the inside heel and act as a buffer between your foot and the heel, and if the shoe is a little too big, it gives you a nice comfortable fit. What more could you ask for from this handy £4 fix?

Sore feet? Shoes pinching? Been walking around all day in shoes that really should've been left at home? Well, this foot cream by Anatomicals - a brand I love almost as much for their quirky product names as for the products themselves - will soon soothe your tired tootsies.
It's called Gorgan (Gone, Gone, Gone) Zola (hee!) it's only £2 from ASOS and it claims to leave your feet feeling refreshed, cool and moisturised. Sounds good to me...

Summer. I love it very much, but let's face it, if you're wearing shoes without socks or tights, it can all get a little, um, squelchy down there. (Sorry.) Enter Fragrant Footings, by Summer Soles. These are traditional insoles with a difference - they'e scented, so instead of eau de sweaty feet, your shoes will smell of things like 'Garden Party Lemon', 'Kiss Me Til Morning Mint' and Bare Shoulder Smoulder Jasmine'.
I have both the jasmine and mint versions sitting on the desk in front of me as I type this, so I can confim that they really do smell gorgeous, and it's a surprisingly strong smell, too, which should definitely make a difference, In my shoes, meanwhile, I have a pair of the (unscented) Softness of Suede insoles, which are designed to be worn inside dressier shoes, including strappy sandals, and which come in a variety of exotic prints - mine are leopard print, which help keep the feet dry and make your shoes look more expensive into the bargain.
Sadly, we've yet to have much heat yet here in the frozen north, so I can't tell you how well they'll stand up to a hot summer's day, but so far the signs are good. Buy them direct from Summer Soles.

Hands up: how many times have you gone to a wedding or other event requiring you to stand around on a lawn, all dolled up in your best stilettos, only to find yourself carrying half of the lawn home with you, stuck to your spiked heel - or, worse, found yourself walking right out of your shoe when the heel burries itself in the grass and you keep going? I know I have, so while these plastic heel stoppers aren't exactly the most attractive shoe accessories in the world, they do look like they'd come in handy on those "grassy" occasions. Just slip them onto the end of your stiletto and wave goodbye to mud on your stilettos. They're £3.50 per pair and come in small and medium: get them from Pretty Pink Toes.
