Would you please tell me if you know of a less expensive alternative to the Manolo Blahniks that Carrie Bradshaw called an Urban Myth in Sex and the City? They were the classic mary jane style. - Becka
Ebay is always a good bet for these. A quick search of the shoe categories using the words 'Carrie' or 'Sex and the City' often brings up plenty of cheap copies of those mythical Manolo Blahnik's. Otherwise, these Lumiani heels have a really similar shape for $90.95
, as do the Steven by Steve Madden 'Vespa' style for $60.95.
"My friend is getting married in Greece, and wants quite an open sandle, with just a small/kitten heel, NO straps or anything around the ankle, and toes need to be out...she has seen these shoes but wants them to be in cream, and can't find them any where!!!! Please, Please, Please, can you help me find some, as she is threatening to wear her trainers if she cant find any!!!!" - Vikki
Now, I'm not usually one to ignore my responsibilities, but this seemed like the perfect question for our new Shiny sister site, Bridalwave. So see what Camilla came up with here. I might need to watch my job at this rate...

"Is there anywhere that's selling a similar pair of spectator pumps in the US? This pair that I tried to order (left) was out of stock! Please help!" - Kate
My first stop when looking for shoes like this was retro haunt Pin Up Girl Clothing. They have a Mary-Jane spectator pump in black and white or pink and white for $48 (middle) or an Oxford pump (right) also in black and white or black and pink for $46. Zappos also carry the Mary Jane slightly cheaper at $43.95
as well as a pump style affair for $48.95
from Irregular Choice's little sister brand, Transport London.
A few of you have asked where ladies in the US can get hold of flat patent shoes, and I must confess finding pairs has been more difficult than I imagined, especially round-toed ballet flats. They're so prolific in the UK, it seems someone forgot to send any over the Atlantic! If anyone knows where they can be found (at a decent price) do let us all know! Until then, these Hepburn-esque bow fronte patent flats from Pin Up Girl Clothing are gorgeous for only $18.
I am absolutely desperate to find a pair of 80's inspired pixie boots but have so far had no luck! I'm not a big ebay fan so I was wondering if you knew where to find some for a relatively low price of less than £100. Pleeeaaaase help! - Sarah
Get thee to an Office store, Sarah! These slouchy pixie boots have been a big hit this season (though don't let the fact Kate Lawler owns them you off). They come in black, cream, green or red for £89.99. If they're not what you're after, try vintage website Candy Says, which has some great 80s boots in stock.
"I'm looking for gold ballet flats in a size 10, with or without a small bow, roundish toe, 0 to 3/4 inch heel. I'm looking for a pair that won't break my bank (about $40 is what I've budgeted). Am I just dreaming or is there a pair out there for me?" - Melanie
If you're willing to go a teensy bit over budget, RSVP's 'Hannah' style could be the shoe you're looking for - gold ballet flats with a 3/4 inch heel. They're reduced to $45.95 until Friday at Zappos
. For something a bit different, Unlisted do a glittery gold pump for $19.99, and Rocket Dog do a flat with elastic strapping for $20.99.
"I've been trying my best to track down a style of boots seen in this picture. It was snapped by a friend with a camera-phone who is after a pair like them, the same if possible." - Gavin & Lisa
This is an easy one. Boots just like the ones in the picture were on sale for £25 a pair at Primark a little while ago (here's a pic of them in brown). You may still get lucky and pick up a pair, though they do tend to get through stock very quickly. They also crop up on eBay from time to time, try doing a search for 'primark boots' or 'black buckle boots'.
