Stella McCartney boot bargain at The Outnet

stella-mccartney-boots.jpgI almost don't want to post about these boots because I've decided that this is the year I buy a really decent pair to last me well into the new decade - and these may just be the main contenders.

With the 40% off, these Stella McCartney boots are bordering on high street prices, which seems too good to miss. They're a classic shoe-boot style that would work with skirts, trousers and almost any smart/casual ensemble with some very cool design trappings. I'm loving the gold 'arch' under the heel that injects that special little flash of quality.

So there you go. I really want these, but I'm feeling so generous that I think you should take advantage of this great offer, too. Just don't go buying them in a 4, or I'll send the boys round....

£190 at The Outnet

Dune fleece-lined 'Bunni' ankle boots

dune-bunni.jpgLooking for something warm that's a bit more presentable than Uggs? Long boots of any sort are a good bet for providing insulation but there are plenty of shorter styles with cushioned or faux-fur linings around at the moment, many of which are as stylish as they are cosy.

I'm quite a fan of Dune's 'Bunni' boot, which is a slouchy, shabby-chic style with a lining of super soft fleece. It's available in black or brown and ready to be your best friend throughout the colder months.

Misguided: Over the knee boot

overthekneemisguided.jpgIn the past, the whole trend for over the knee boots has left me a little cold (not literally, I’m sure toasty kneecaps will be lovely in the next few months) For me they tend to fall into the domain of hooker boots, particularly those of the high patent leather varieties.

I might be tempted to change my mind after seeing these little beauties on Missguided.co.uk though. The boots are a little bit posh and yet also have a little bit pirate, not a combination you get to often. I think it’s the studs that draw it away from a lady of the night look, and I really like the flat heel detail. They’re remarkably similar to the Faith ‘Mienna’ boots Abi recently wrote about, but quite a bit cheaper at £28.99

It’s got me thinking about the best ways to wear over the knee boots without looking like a fashion victim.

Here are my top tips..

ASOS frill and zip detail suede ankle boots

asos-frill-boots.jpgASOS have brought out some very pretty shoes with frills recently and these suede booties are a bit like the autumnal cousins of the patent peep-toes we fell in love with during the summer.

I've included a back view here so you can see that the pointy bit poking out at the back is not a bow as you might have assumed - that would have been way too much and would have overbalanced the delicate look of the frills. It's actually a zip, which gives the boots an extra edge. I also love the way the frill fetches up in a point, for a note of sassy, catwoman-esque chic. Could these be the ankle boots you're still searching for?

'Nessa' at Jones the bootmaker

jones-nessa.jpgWhen I spotted these rugged looking suede boots in Jones the other day, I couldn't help thinking I'd seen them somewhere before. A bit of brain-wracking later, I realised that they'd reminded me of these rather fabulous boots from See by Chloe, which are more than three times the price.

Available in versatile brown, deep purple or royal blue, these are the sort of boots I can imagine wearing so often I'd probably need them surgically removed by spring.

Infinitely wearable and stylish, the boots have a nice, noticeably height-inducing heel that's chunky enough to be really comfy, a single stud at the back, leather laces and a fashionable raw rubber front sole. We want.

Faith's 'Mienna' boot a sellout on the web

faith-mienna-boots.jpgI've heard whisperings of Faith's Mienna boots as being "the style of the season" and while I don't see them as anything to get overly excited about in their own right, you certainly won't lose any style points by wearing them well into the new year.

'Mienna' certainly has it all in terms of A/W 09/10 trappings with its slouchy shabby-chic vibe and if you're a sucker for the boot tassel, you''ll love the frayed-suede pendulum dangling from the top. The flat heel makes this a practical choice for those who like to live in long boots, and the studding is kept to a minimum, making them suitable for everyday wear.

Owing to their popularity these boots have sold out on the web. But more are coming, and you might find a pair in store if you're lucky. £140 at Faith

Introducing the Anna Sui limited edition fit-flop!

anna-sui-fitflops.jpgIf you've been dying to try out the FitFlop theory of dynamic leg-shaping for years but are enough of a shoe snob to be put of by the slightly grannyish look of the label's classic sandals, here's a new range that may persuade you to think again.

Anna Sui has designed a pair of limited edition moccasin boots for FitFlops, which are built on the same design principles as the original flipflops. with a smattering of studs, a taste of tassel and a warm and wooly interior, they're everything you need for comfortable and stylish locomotion this winter. Great news for Fitflop addicts who usually miss the leg-toning technology for at least half of the year!
