'Nessa' at Jones the bootmaker

jones-nessa.jpgWhen I spotted these rugged looking suede boots in Jones the other day, I couldn't help thinking I'd seen them somewhere before. A bit of brain-wracking later, I realised that they'd reminded me of these rather fabulous boots from See by Chloe, which are more than three times the price.

Available in versatile brown, deep purple or royal blue, these are the sort of boots I can imagine wearing so often I'd probably need them surgically removed by spring.

Infinitely wearable and stylish, the boots have a nice, noticeably height-inducing heel that's chunky enough to be really comfy, a single stud at the back, leather laces and a fashionable raw rubber front sole. We want.

Faith's 'Mienna' boot a sellout on the web

faith-mienna-boots.jpgI've heard whisperings of Faith's Mienna boots as being "the style of the season" and while I don't see them as anything to get overly excited about in their own right, you certainly won't lose any style points by wearing them well into the new year.

'Mienna' certainly has it all in terms of A/W 09/10 trappings with its slouchy shabby-chic vibe and if you're a sucker for the boot tassel, you''ll love the frayed-suede pendulum dangling from the top. The flat heel makes this a practical choice for those who like to live in long boots, and the studding is kept to a minimum, making them suitable for everyday wear.

Owing to their popularity these boots have sold out on the web. But more are coming, and you might find a pair in store if you're lucky. £140 at Faith

Introducing the Anna Sui limited edition fit-flop!

anna-sui-fitflops.jpgIf you've been dying to try out the FitFlop theory of dynamic leg-shaping for years but are enough of a shoe snob to be put of by the slightly grannyish look of the label's classic sandals, here's a new range that may persuade you to think again.

Anna Sui has designed a pair of limited edition moccasin boots for FitFlops, which are built on the same design principles as the original flipflops. with a smattering of studs, a taste of tassel and a warm and wooly interior, they're everything you need for comfortable and stylish locomotion this winter. Great news for Fitflop addicts who usually miss the leg-toning technology for at least half of the year!

Block-heeled suede boots with heart by Poetic Licence

poetic-licence-boot.jpgPoetic Licence are one of those labels who tend to throw everything including the kitchen sink at a shoe, without a second's thought for wearability - so it's great to see them coming out with something that's subtle enough to be easy to match but with all the character and interest you'd expect from an offbeat brand.

The main point of contention here is the blocky heel, but give it six months and they'll be everywhere. The heart-tie laces are just darling and the touch of polka-dot in the ruffle turns these fairly pedestrian suede booties into a winder wonderland classic. My main worry with these boots is how dirty they'd become once I realised I wanted to wear them every day...cute boots.

Alexander McQueen sues Steve Madden over 'Faithful' bootie design

alexandermcqueen_stevemadden_faithfulbootie_sue.jpg

Alexander McQueen may have just wowed us at Paris Fashion Week, but he isn't too happy with Steve Madden. The designer has filed a lawsuit against Madden for knocking off his 'Faithful' bootie. The complaint cites Madden's 'Seryna' bootie as a "studied imitation" of McQueen's design which debuted in January.

Casual Friday: Clarks Originals celebrates 60 years of the Desert Boot

clarks-originals-desert.jpgDesert boots have been due a revival for some while now, and with a 90s flashback looming, we should all be getting ourselves used to the idea around now.

Clarks Originals should help that process along as they've just launched a fun, limited edition collection of bold and decorative desert boots - each one representing a specific decade in the 60 years since the style was first devised. So there's a Harris Tweed boot to stand for the 50s, a groovy purple fringed suede boot for the 70s, a stonewashed denim boot to represent the 80s.and many more to discover, charting the desert boots journey through history.

All boots in the collection are priced at £89 and available at Clarks Originalks

Faith red faux snakeskin booties with patent toecap

dune-ankle-boots-red.jpg
I think I've just landed in ankle-boot heaven. These fabulous booties from Faith have all the right ingredients for the perfect autumn and winter shoe, and look a good deal pricier than their £60.

They're a little bit Rupert Sanderson with their skinny heels and exotic 'skin', but their exuberance is tempered by a Chanel-esque toe cap and a hint of brogue that makes them all the more wearable.

£60 at Debenhams
