I'm usually a bit dubious of brands like Bronx because I feel like they usually offer derivative versions of high street trends, but these heels from Schuh (£59.99) are far more interesting. The lattice effect is dying for a pair of opaques to set it off, pale grey if you want to show them off or deep purple for something more subtle. The banana heel is very up-to-the-minute and I like the way the lattice effect continues up to the ankle.

While these fierce Ariella boots aren't new by any means, I just happened to glimpse a photo of Rachel Bilson out and about in LA yesterday, and did a double take at these Louboutins which, I think, definitely up the hotness quotient of her outfit!
Seen on everyone from the Olsen twins to Beyonce to sometime Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, the Ariella boot has a killer 12cm heel and has proven so popular they're sadly all sold out on net-a-porter.com.
But we can look at the page and dream can't we? (Or if you can live without the studs, Saks still have the suede version for $890.)
This week our Ugly Shoe column is a double feature. We've already assailed your eyes with Givenchy's awful plastic sandals; and now their hideous boots! The chunkiest ankle boots I've seen in a while, the lace detail, elastic insert and peep-toe make this style scream "I'M LOUD! LOOK AT ME!" more vociferously than their neutral white colouring would suggest! Unsuited to jeans... and I'm not sure that they'd suit skirts or dresses either; my hat's off to anyone who can style these in an attractive way! They're an ugly $638.95 from Givenchy.

Described as 'chalk suede sling-back shoe boots', I must admit that I find these spring offerings from Pedro Garcia to be a little on the ugly side. Showcasing a shape that will make mincemeat of most ankles, it's the white suede that ensures these will get dirty as soon as you dare to think about a rainy day. Pair with the shapely legs of a supermodel and you might just get away with them - they're a frightening £185 from Net-A-Porter.

Last week Vogue asked the question, "Are sock boots the latest trend?" They were referring to hosiery brand FALKE's collaboration with Hussein Chalayan to create boots like the ones shown here for the designer's Paris catwalk show. Of course, boots with sock-like attachments aren't exactly a new idea, but these ones take the concept to the limit, looking exactly like a sock with a high heel attached to it.
How would you answer Vogue's question? Are sock boots the latest trend, and if so, will you be wearing them?

If you’re hanging out for work to end, so that you can race home to your cosy PJs, then I suspect that this is the kind of footwear that you like best! In an eye-catchingly bright Fair Isle knit, they're a great stay-at-home slipper for those of you who have feet that get very cold! Wear with your snuggliest PJs and you'll never want to leave the house again! They're $18 from Urban Outfitters.

Well, who would have thought! We know that fruit has been appearing on clothing and accessories for some time now, but it seems that Hunter are keen to lead a veggie trend instead! Embellished with radishes, peas and what looks to be a lettuce, they’re apparently reproduced from a vintage Royal Horticultural Society print. More a pair for serious gardeners than fruit-and-fashion-friendly feet, they’re best worn with a shovel, pitchfork and a garden plot waiting to be planted! If you'd like to get down and dirty this weekend (in your garden, and in an entirely eco-friendly way, of course!), they’re just $60 from Hunter.
