New Shoes: Jenne O's latest footwear collection

jenne-o-boots.jpgJenne O shoes can be difficult to come by, but are so worth the wait once you track them down. There's not much on the website to give away what the exclusive label is doing at present, so I snapped a few pics at London Fashion Week to give you an idea of what you can expect in the coming season. As ever, the range is available through the Jenne O Boutique, and in selected stores you can find on the site.

I love Jenne O's use of metallic fabrics this season - particularly in the ankle boots pictured top. The shape of the heels is kept fairly consistent throughout the range: a stylish, slightly tapered stiletto that reminds me a bit of Rupert Sanderson's heels.

The 'hunt' for the coolest Hunter Wellingtons wearer is on!

hunterwellie_coolhuntercomp.jpgWere you the coolest kid around to wear a pair of Hunter Wellies this festival season? Then listen up!

Hunter Wellington is literally on the 'hunt' to find the chicest Wellie-wearer in Britain. They have teamed up with our favourite fashion buyer Brix Smith-Start to sort through your boot-iful (sorry!) photos.

"What I love about festival fashion is the large scale explosion of creativity and personal style, which I find inspiring," Brix Smith-Start said.

The winner will score themselves a brand new pair of Hunter wellies and accessories from the S/S 2010 collection. You can email your pics to competitions@hunter-boot.com by Saturday 10th October.

The finalists will be uploaded to the Hunter Wellie Facebook page and the winner selected from there.

Classic flat black boots

southwedgeboots.jpgMy love of suede shoes always takes a bit of a bashing around this time of year. They're still getting a bit of wear in the evenings, but for day to day wear they get replaced by my trusty flat black boots.

Black leather boots are up there with LBD's as a classic item every girl has to have. They don't have to cost a weeks wages or look like a biker's castsoffs either. These South Maria low wedge boots (on the right/0 from very.co.uk are only £31, and benefit from a slight wedge heel. The higher front of the boot gives a nod towards the over the knee look without going the whole hog.

Here are a couple more budget friendly flat black boots.

My Favourite Shoes: M&S stretch boots

m&s-boots.jpgWe all dream about owning a showstopping pair of Louboutins or Jimmy Choos, but it's often the more nondescript pieces of footwear that serve us best, and I certainly have to admit that this is true of the one boot I've ever bought twice: M&S's perennial 'stretchy boot'.

These boots are long, stylish and comfortable and look great with almost literally anything. They don't last forever, but my first pair did me proud for a couple of winters, while my second are already doing good service. M&S change the styles slightly every season but they all essentially boil down to the same thing: easy, wearable boots that can be dressed up or down and give you the essential long-booted look for less.

Wild animal-print thigh high boots by Moloh

Animal Print Boot_00004.jpgAnimal print is ubiquitous at the moment, but I've not seen anything quite as striking as these 'Cowboy' cowhide boots by Moloh before now.

The tall, pull-on style boots are both practical and stylish with that 'English with a quirky edge' feel to them that's massive at the moment, and I particularly like the pink silky lining, which contrasts beautifully and would be visible as you walk. They're available exclusively through Moloh, which is launching its first London boutique in Pimlico on 1st October. If you like this style but can't quite stretch to the cost, there are quite a few similar ones in the sale section of Moloh's site: I particularly like this style with its oversized tassel and brogue.

'Oriental Suede' Limited Edition booties at New Look

new-look-booties.jpgStill looking for those elusive transitional booties? If what's separating you from your perfect pair is a lack of interesting, affordable ankle boots with a bit of a twist then you may want to check out this limited edition style at New Look, which takes its influences from oriental-style tailoring.

Whether you're looking for some perfectly matching and affordable footwear to go with a kimono or oriental-style dress or want to add interest to a plainer outfit, these booties could be a good buy.

Dolce & Gabbana ruffle suede ankle boots

ruffle-boots.jpgAh, ruffles! Another ubiquitous shoe decoration that's still not going anywhere in a hurry. I've not seen the style used in quite this way before though, which is funny considering how well it seems to work so well.

Dolce & Gabbana have taken a very elegant suede boot with a sharply-sculpted heel and festooned it with a lush metallic ruffle that instantly ups the style factor by 100. I love the deep bronze of the frill and (although I'm sure many will try) don't see this being an easy one to copy convincingly, as the style's in the quality of the basic boot.
