I was going to say that these would be a good buy for the coming winter (no, I don't want to think about it either), but actually, as the seasons start to blend into one in the UK, I've been seeing more and more girls wearing their boots during the summer months too: let's face it, it's not like it's always too warm for them, is it?
A good pair of flat boots are close to being a wardrobe essential, I'd say, and these ones look rather Kate-Moss-esque to me. The fringing isn't something that would normally appeal to me, but I actually quite like it on these, and think they'd look great over skinny jeans or leggings. They're £85 from Topshop.

If the currently arriving autumn stock is anything to go by, shoe boots are going to be just as big this winter as they were last year. If they all look like these ones by Rupert Sanderson, that'll be just fine by me: I love the curved upper and monochrome finish, while that stiletto heel provides a sexy touch. These are, as you would imagine, fairly pricey at £615, but look out for the high street versions I just know will be appearing sooner or later.

I take back what I said earlier this week about being bored with bows. If Nordstrom would only ship to the UK, these babies would be winging their way to me right now! They're Stuart Weitzman's 'Bouffant' shoe boots, and they come in grey flannel and plain black. I favour the grey version because there's more contrast between the shoe and the bow, but both are lovely, and would be the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe.
They're reduced to $199 in the Nordstrom sale.

Shopbop say these Diane von Furstenberg Pickford High Heel Granny Bootie are Victorian inspired, I say they're a take on the classic boot known as the witch-y boot. Ok so I'm joking, but when you look at these booties for the first time, you immediately think of those other shoes from the Wizard of Oz - as worn by the Wicked Witch of the West. First impressions aside, these are actually a chic little boot with lace-up detail at the front, but for convenience there is a zipper closure at the back of the shoe. The perforated trim is reminiscent of the Victorian era and the 4" heel and almond shaped toe are the perfect finishing touches.

I've never been much of a one for chunky rubber soles. I'm sure some people will argue that the one on Chloe's 'Odissea' ankle boot, for instance, is very practical for the colder weather, and that may well be true (although I'd have thought if it was slippy enough to need a sole like that one, it would probably be too slippy for the high heel) but I just can't find much about it to admire. The baggy shape of the upper, which makes it look a little like a leather bag tied around the foot doesn't help much either, it has to be said.
If you disagree, and think these are just the boots you've been looking for, however, you'll find them at Saks Fifth Avenue, where the cost $775.

Looking for a work-style boot (and we don't mean boots for work)? Try these Brown Lace Up Boot by YMC for a shoe that could take you from a jaunt into the countryside to a dash around the shops with a pair of jodhpur style jeans. Made from leather and canvas with a rubber sole, the round toe boots lace up on the side for a different look. This is perfect for days when you're feeling a little unconventional.

You have got to hand it to ASOS and how they tag products in their shop with "in the style of". Take these leather boots for example, they're ok, kind of chic and military with the line of buckles on the outside. Now throw in the fact that a very similar pair was worn by Nicky Hilton once upon a time, the appeal instantly grows in the group of fashionable young women who find the Hilton's inspirational. You know, the ones who are willing to splurge on a £75 pair of shoes (which is still probably way cheaper that the pair Nicky herself is wearing).
