Some people are lucky enough to have really casual Fridays, and by that I mean, "so casual they don't even have to leave the house". For those people, these leopard print slippers from ASOS are a cute way to slob out at home without feeling like you're totally dressed down. The animal print is also super-fashionable right now, too. Fashionable slippers: who would've thought it, eh?
These are an inexpensive £6 from ASOS.

Well, I don't think anyone could accuse these trainers of being the boring option somehow...
They're Ontisuka Tiger's limited edition 'Electric Tiger Land Sunotore 72' trainers, and they glow under UV lighting and in the dark to reveal the Tokyo skyline. If you like them, they're available at the company's store in Newburgh Street, London, priced at £80.

Back when I was in high school (all this was fields, then) Chipie trainers went through a surge of popularity and were, briefly, the only thing to be seen in, which means this pair hold a degree of nostalgic appeal for me. They come in black or this metallic purple colour, both of which make them much more interesting than what I think of as "normal" trainers - i.e. any bright white ones.
If you like them, and feel like having yourself a bit of a casual Friday, they're £45 and available at Barratts.

Casual footwear goes back to the 80s with these 'Astride' high tops from Faith, which come in black or white, with pink and blue accents. Although they're shown folded down here, they can also be buttoned all the way up, turning them into a boot. Personally I like the folded-down look better, and think these could look good with a pair of skinny jeans, for a real comfy-casual look. If you agree, they're £25 and available at Faith.co.uk.

I'm always interested to see classic styles rendered in new materials, and in the case of Dunlop's new 'Jersey Flash' I think the combo works particularly well.
The chunky red laces contrast neatly with the pale grey jersey fabric, which adds a bulkiness to the shoes, while strong vulcanised rubber makes them every bit as practical as they were originally designed to be.

Converse shoes are a great way to indulge your less sophisticated style whims without losing any cool points: in this case, revisiting your '80s sticker collection. The foily rainbow lovehearts would look utterly naff on almost anything else, but put them on a Converse sneaker and you somehow get away with it!

Is your Friday so casual you don't even plan on leaving the house? Mine is, which is why these suede slippers from Neiman Marcus are looking so appealing to me right now. They're by a brand called "Homers" (so you can wear "Homer's slippers"), and are a world away from the oversized fluff monsters many people seem to prefer for lounging around the house. I can never quite bring myself to wear those, even when I'm alone, so these make a nice, stylish alternative, which won't embarrass you should someone decide to pop round for coffee. They're $135, and exclusive to Neiman Marcus.
