Is your Friday so casual you don't even plan on leaving the house? Mine is, which is why these suede slippers from Neiman Marcus are looking so appealing to me right now. They're by a brand called "Homers" (so you can wear "Homer's slippers"), and are a world away from the oversized fluff monsters many people seem to prefer for lounging around the house. I can never quite bring myself to wear those, even when I'm alone, so these make a nice, stylish alternative, which won't embarrass you should someone decide to pop round for coffee. They're $135, and exclusive to Neiman Marcus.

Casual Friday doesn't have to mean raking through the bargain bin: these jewelled thong sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti are the luxe (very luxe) way to do "casual", although at £415, you're going to need to wear them on more than just the odd Friday here and there to really get your money's worth.
These will also be great on vacation, with that oversized purple jewel allowing you to dress them up or down as desired. For that price, though, I'd be really wary about leaving them lying around on the beach while you take a dip in the sea...

I'm not quite sure about these trainers. On the one hand, as a short girl, I appreciate the extra lift provided by the small wedge heel, but on the other, there's something rather orthopaedic about them that really puts me off. That may just be the effect of the all-white leather, of course. These are also available in black leather with white soles, and they look a lot less like the kind of shoes you'd only wear because you had to in that colour. If you think they're just fine in the white, though, you can pick up a pair for £55 at Topshop.

I have a soft spot for anything covered in cherry print, and am also a bit of a Converse nut, so I was bound to fall for this new style from everyone's favourite basketball shoe.
Personal weaknesses aside, the print is summery without being too girly (that'll be the black background, then), pleasingly retro and perfect for kicking back in your favourite jeans and t-shirt. Available from ASOS for £30

We're cheating slightly with this edition of Casual Friday, because I think these Mike & Chris ballet flats would be equally at home on a more dressed up occasion than on a casual Friday. The pale pink leather, button details and ankle tie make them very feminine and a rather more elegant option than trainers of flip flops, but if comfort is the name of the game, you won't go wrong with these either. The leather sole looks like it has plenty of grip, and the advantage of these Casual Friday flats is that once the working day is done, you'll be able to dress them up for a night on the town!

It's a double-whammy from Faith today, who've provided us with both our Casual Friday and our Not-so-Casual Friday shoe. Before you cram your feet into those stilettos, though, you may want to give them a rest in these woven silver sneakers, which are a bargain at £25, as well as being nicely unusual, and a bit more interesting than regular sneakers. They're also available in white, and you can buy them at the Faith website.

Until now, I was firmly of the opinion that politics and shoes do not mix, but that was before indie footwear label Komodo Shoes created these cheerful canvas sneakers to show their support for the Free Tibet campaign, a cause they've been championing for many years.
20% off every pair of the distinctive shoes will go towards the campaign, which calls for an end to Chinese occupation of Tibet, and for improved human rights in the troubled region. The shoes are available exclusively through the Natural Shoe Store, priced at £40. [Via Hippyshopper]
