The achingly cool Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine posed in some dreamy heels for this month's InStyle: Rupert Sanderson's limited edition 'Plato' platform slingbacks in powder-blue python. We're loving the way the daring, skinny heels and pale hue pick up the blue tones in Flo's outfit.
Unfortunately these shoes were every bit as 'limited' as their name would suggest, and have now sold out. But you can still pick up the style in ringmark lizard and rose gold leather - perfect for this season's nude trends. Cheryl Cole has also been spotted recently in the lizard version, which she wore in week 3 of the X-Factor. The full 'Plato' range can be found here.
We love to see real people (or for want of real ones, celebs) wearing the kooky styles we never thought anyone could pull off - so there was excitement at Shoewawa when we saw these images of a certain someone wearing Vivienne Westwood's 'animal toe' bondage boots.
The boots shown here are a slight variant of the original two-tone design, with a dazzling scarlet panel at the front. But whose shoes are they?
Agyness Deyn showed the world what she thought of Burberry's latest platform shoes when she kicked them aside following not one but two tumbles on the runway at the Fashion for Relief Haiti fundraiser in New York on Friday. "1st show of fashion week! Took a tumble! Got up! Fell again. Should have stayed down the 1st time. Twice! WTF! Ouch my knees!" she tweeted after the show.
Once again, it takes the minor misfortune of a top model to remind us just how crazy some of the most sought-after and expensive footwear really is, once you get it out of its shiny box and on to a real pair of feet. Will this change future collections? We doubt it!
Even when she's rushing around looking somewhat lost and confused behind those over-sized specs, VB manages to accessorize perfectly. We were struck by the simple combination of colours and textures in this ensemble, which really makes the most of a basic black slip dress.
First, of course, there's her faithful crocodile Hermes Birkin, a startling contrast in high shine blood red. Further interest is provided by her tights, which we instantly recognised as Wolford's 'Nostalgia' tights: a really interesting new design that features an oriental-style fan design that runs in waves all over the leg.
Much of the US is experiencing the same 'Day After Tomorrow' style weather events we've been battling with for weeks back in Blighty, and Rachel Bilson is leading the way in Weather Warning Chic. Striding out in her croc-effect, Jimmy Choo wellington boots, she certainly knows how to dress for a deluge.
Bad news for anyone who wants to snap up a pair: the much-coveted boots are sold out pretty much everywhere. A combination of lousy weather, the magic touch of Choo and a reasonable price tag have seen demands skyrocket. But we've found a pair of the even rarer grey version, as worn by Bilson here on Ebay in a UK size 4, with a buy-it-now price of £428. That's already more than the cost of the £235 sold-out boots on Net-a-Porter...
When Alexander McQueen introduced his crazy 'lobster' style shoes at last season's fashion weeks, a lot of us wondered who'd be brave enough to wear them.
A few style (and attention) loving celebs have now stepped in to try out the shoes, and we've had no reports of injuries yet. Lady Gaga's known to have a pair, and the latest convert is Kelis, who rocked up at the first annual Data Awards (a ceremony in LA for dance DJs and producers) wearing the McQueen footwear and a sort of scaled body suit that left little to the imagination. We've all had enough of nautical now...but is fashion really going to be taking us UNDER the sea next season?
Everyone seems to want to talk about the Sugababes' sense of style, and with each new public appearance, their wardrobe decisions come under scrutiny once again. Was there a single household in the UK not discussing the wisdom of each Babe's choice of dress on Top of the Pops at Christmas, for example?
So it made a welcome change to hear the girls themselves talking fashion to our sister site, OSO You. Check out the full interview here to find out who the girls consider to be their style icons, what's in their handbags and which designer's shoes are rocking their worlds right now.
