As I've mentioned before, I'm a bit of a nightmare with heels and shoe soles. I drag my feet all the time, and so despite the fact that in my head I am striding meaningfully down the high street, I am probably actually shuffling like a little old lady. Luckily, for my stiletto heels at least, there appears to be a solution from those clever shoe people I always imagine beavering away in tall tower blocks somewhere or other - these Smart Heel high heel protectors! Read on to hear more!

Here on Shoewawa, we haven't talked this concept since 2005 (see link below) but I thought it was such a nifty idea that it deserves another mention. Have you ever wanted to find a shoe available for long feet, short feet, narrow feet, different sized feet, bunions, wide feet, in specific colours, for short legs, long legs, or wide calves or narrow calves? If so, carry on reading as 'The Shoe Individualiser' at Selve could be just what you're after!

Tony Blair has suddenly gone up in my estimation! I always knew he was a shoe-loving soul (sort of) just like the rest of us here at Shoewawa and now this has been proven true. It seems that he puts his long-running reign as Prime Minister, during which he has triumphed over for Conservative and two Lib Dem leaders, not down to his own talents or even those of the people around him. Instead, he believes it's all due to his lucky shoes.

Although personally I always envisage plastic surgery as being on the face, it has now apparently moved down past the arms and chest, the stomach and thighs - the latest plastic surgery craze it seems, is for the foot. Now I'm not a huge foot and toe fan, I actually have a phobia of 'wiggly toes' (I think it stems back from seeing the film version of Roald Dahl's 'The Witches' with the bald witches and their square feet, urgh) but while I do not particularly like my own feet, I seriously can't imagine having them operated on for non-medical reasons. However, as celebrities prove, when you have a foot problem and a shoe addiction, it doesn't always have the desired results...ahem Mrs Beckham!

Gemma Cartwright ponders what to pack in her suitcase this Summer...
With less than a month to go before I head off for two weeks in the sun, I've had to start thinking about what to pack. I'm off on holiday with the friend who is partly responsible for turning me into such a shoe whore in the first place. She can wear heels all day without complaining and knows all the tricks for avoiding or treating blisters. But even she is a slave to her Havaianas once she's poolside. The pool glam 'heels and a bikini' look favoured by rap video girls and pageant stars just doesn't work in an apartment complex in Gran Canaria. But that doesn't mean we should get lazy...

I love couture shoes just as much as ready to wear designer pieces and shoes on the high street, and Gil Carvalho has taken it to a whole new level. He's designed a new range of shoes named "Visionary" which are conceptual and are based on style over function. To quote the shoe master himself, "the conceptual collection lets me play and explore”.
Carry on reading for more about the ideas behind 'Visionary', pictures of the crazy maisie shoes, and info on the man himself!

Ladies, I'm definitely aware that sometimes you love the shoes I talk about here at Shoewawa, and sometimes you are horrified and alarmed at what I dare to present to you. So, I feel a bonding session is in order, and one thing that we can all agree on is that every woman, shoe lover or not, has a favourite pair of shoes. Perhaps they're comfortable, perhaps they go with everything, are individual, were limited editions, are quirky, maybe they epitomise your personal style or maybe you just have particularly happy memories wearing them.
