It's been a while since I've seen Balenciaga shoes that weren't gladiator boots (and seen on Mary-Kate Olsen) or rather outrageous. These Balenciaga pink satin multicolor floral printed sandals definitely don't fit into the previous two categories but do go with Balenciaga's spring 2008 floral theme. Bright, colourful and complete with chunky heel, these shoes just seem to hark back to the 1990s, which is rather scary because I really hoped I would never see those kinds of shoes again. They're not a must-buy for me, but it could be interesting to see if anyone does wear them. Love them? They've been marked down from $725 to $580 at BlueFly.

This is yet another example of a shoe that's simple yet oh-so very gorgeous! It's Pedro Garcia's 'Kasirai' shoe, which comes in this glorious nude coloured satin. In this picture, the front of the shoe looks like it's sticking out rather a lot, but they look fine on the mannequin, so I suspect they'll also look good on a foot! Overall a very classy shoe in a colour that will be very versatile. They're £185 at My-Wardrobe.

We have a rather bold little shoe for you to play stylist with this week. This is Valentino's polka dot slingback, and while the style of the shoe has nothing outlandish about it, those oversized polka dots are certainly not for shy and retiring types!
As ever, all you have to do is put together an outfit to wear with these shoes, and have it with us by 9am on Tuesday morning. You'll find the rules here, if you've never played before, and if you check back on Tuesday afternoon, you'll be able to see what your fellow shoe stylists came up with!

While I'm not particularly keen on many of Prada's recent "wavy" shoes, I'm making an exception for these ones. The blend of beige and tan would have put these in my good books anyway, but the wave design around the foot is really stunning on this shoe, turning an ordinary court into something that makes you sit up and take notice. These would be good for work, but would also work well on the weekend with some of the cream and tan safari-style fashions we've been seeing around lately. They're not cheap at $595, but they certainly look expensive, so you may well decide they're worth it.

Looking for a bit of a height boost of about 6 inches? Because this will definitely give you the extra height you crave if you're any good at walking around in sky high heels. Not only are these shoes tall, they're also very shiny and sexy. Made from 100% patent leather this shoe will hold your foot in place with fine ankle straps and straps across the toes. While skyscraper heels and patent leather can look really cheap and nasty, these are actually quite edgy as they're not 100% black and it is Burberry Prorsum after all. For girls looking for stilts, these sexy platform sandals will set you back £395 - ouch!

I must be going through a Christian Louboutin fixation at the mo - every time I go looking for a non-Louboutin shoe to write about, there's another lovely Lou staring me in the face. And you know as well as I do, they're so hard to resist!
I guess that's why I'm sitting here writing about this Privatita sandal, a style of which I wrote about only last week but in the fluro green colour!
The multicolour painted python in this version is so exquisite though, I simply cannot ignore them. The bronze metallic heel and platform really add a hint of glam and ensure this is the ultimate summer shoe. They come at a price though - $1095 from Neiman Marcus.

I'm always fascinated by the way little details can make such a big difference to a shoe. These Costume National pumps, for instance, have a heel that continues up the shoe just a little higher than normal, but the effect is of a heel that looks impossibly high. It's actually 4", which, although high enough, isn't out of the ordinary. As a high heel fan, I love the skyscraper effect, and the grey/green mix is appealing, too. These are $604 at Zappos.
