Shoewawa Preview: George at Asda Spring/Summer Collection

P1000120.jpg

These gold flats from George look really nice, as they're a great shape, and the metallic color is still going to be hot in the summer months. This pair will retail at under £10, but look like their much pricier counterparts. The collection has a lot of gold and bronze and as it's for next summer they are releasing a range of flips flops and peep toes- supermarket chic extraordinaire.

It's nice how supermarkets are getting in on the fashion trends as many people don't have enough time to go round the shops, so it's a quick way of updating your wardrobe with stylish finds.

Jimmy Choo, Tory Burch, Christian Louboutin and more donate designer shoes to 7th on Sale

7th-on-sale.jpg

It's one of the world's biggest fashion events, and 7th on Sale is something of a shoe lover's dream, too, with designers like Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo donating shoes to be auctioned off to help those living with HIV and AIDS.

The event runs from November 15th - December 6th, and you can either buy a ticket to attend a live auction in New York city, or bid online at eBay. There's an impressive list of shoe designers to choose from, plus designer handbags, clothes and items worn and donated by celebrities. Visit the website for more information - thanks to Brandy for the heads-up!

The Red Shoe Initiative gets pretty shoes involved in a great cause

header01cc01.jpg
Shoes and charity are a way to a conscientious woman's heart for sure. eBay are bringing great news for girls with room in their hearts for more than just shoe love with their Red Shoe Initiative. The cause aims to promote health and awareness of America's biggest killers of women: heart attacks and strokes.

Those clever boffins are doing so by auctioning lots of pairs of lovely red shoes autographed by various shoe loving lady celebrities from Eva Longoria to Susan Sarandon. There's a style for every girl, and it's all for a great cause. Check out their eBay site as well as RedShoeInitiative.org for a chance to get involved.

Arrr, me hearties, it's Talk Like a Pirate Day! Here be Vivienne Westwood pirate boots !

vivienne-westwood-pirate-bo.jpgArrr! It may be Talk Like a Pirate Day for the rest of the world, but here at Shoewawa we're declaring it Walk Like a Pirate Day, and celebrating in the only way we know how - with pirate boots, of course!

Of course, of all the pirate boots we've known and (sometimes) loved, Vivienne Westwood's are perhaps the most famous of all. Out of production until Kate Moss found a 20-year-old pair in London vintage boutique, Rellik, the designer was forced to start making them again when Kate's pair re-started the trend. Where Kate Moss leads, Sienna Miller follows (and the rest of the world comes tumbling after) so, unsurprisingly, the flat, strappy style has become something of a classic. The boots are still in production, and you can buy them new for £295. Or, of course, there's always eBay: this pair is a UK size 4, and is currently at £82.

eBay Watch: Christian Louboutin Blue Mouche on sale now

3065532.jpg I don't mind telling you I feel a little bit ill right now. I'll put it down to both excitement and all consuming envy, as I've just found these Christian Louboutin heels on eBay.

Louboutin, as you may well know, is a celebrity favourite where red carpet shoes are concerned, and he never fails to make skyscraper heels with style in bags. These have left me drooling, I may even weep a little that I can't possibly spare $995. If you can, or even if you want to remortgage your home to get these, there's six days of bidding left.

Jessica Simpson's signed boots - up for auction for charity

jsboots.jpgI know at Shoewawa we make fun of Jessica Simpson's footwear range almost as much as we make fun of Irregular Choice for having an apt name, but the truth is I actually own a pair of Jessica Simpson shoes...and I love them. I'm not proud of giving in to the cash cow, but I couldn't resist. Every time I wear them, someone comments on how fab they are and I lie about where I got them and skulk away feeling guilty. So I don't think I'll be bidding on a pair of boots that have her name scrawled across the top...but I do admire her for donating them to a good cause...

Raid eBay for designer shoes while the pound is powerful!

musicebay.jpgYou may be able to get a good bargain on eBay.co.uk, but right now savvy Brit shoppers should be looking across the Atlantic for bargains. Yesterday the pound was worth almost two dollars, the strongest it's been since 1992, meaning we can nab amazing bargains on products from the USA, even with higher shipping costs. Take, for example, these Jimmy Choo 'Music' satin sandals. They're selling on eBay for $299 plus shipping of $39. At the current exchange rate, that makes them about £170. In contrast A similar style bought from Net-a-Porter in the UK will set you back £350 plus postage. I've always said we're ripped off for living in the UK, and here's yet more proof. Make the most of the amazing exchange rate while you can...just be careful if you go on too much of a spree, those customs officers have no mercy!

eBay Watch: Irregular Choice Bestsellers

IcebayWatching the bids on eBay can be a great bit of social observation. What makes people bid on specific things? At the moment, these floral and pinstripe irregular choice heels seem to be the most highly coveted items. A size 6 pair have already got 14 bids with over a day to go,  while the size 4's have attracted 7 bids...you've got 24 hours to top them. Lucky size 7's, on the other hand, have very little competition. A pair are going for £15 with only one bid and 5 hours to go.

Ebay Watch: Irregular Choice

28_1 Well, yesterday's Irregular Choice shoe boots didn't exactly get the warmest of receptions, but I will not be defeated in my one-woman quest tobring Irregular Choise to the masses! These are called Antique Rose, and they're my current lust-items of the moment. I've managed to track down a pair on eBay which are currently at £21 (and in a size 4, too, which just happens to be my size - fancy that!), but they're also available at Zappos for £120.

Like Kylie, I just can't get them out of my head. Go on then, talk me out of it...
