Ed Hardy flip flops!

ed-hardy-flip-flops.jpg

Like Ed Hardy shoes? Well, here's the flip flop version for (what remains of) summer! OK, you're not going to be able to see much of the design on these once you're actually wearing them, but hey, you'll know it's there, and they'll look good lying next to the pool or at the beach. They're not too expensive either, at $34.95, so they could be a good buy (or gift, even) for an Ed Hardy fan. They're available at Nordstrom.

Aspiga silver plain daisy thong shoes

brown flippies.jpgIt's turned into one of those days so hot and sticky that looking at anything but the most basic shoes is bringing me out in a sweat. I've thus spent quite some time browsing flip-flops, and in amongst the designer ones costing upwards of £100, I found this very basic brown pair, set off by a delicate pink flower by Aspiga.

Thong shoes, in my opinion, were never meant to get fancier than this. So let's embrace them for what they are: cool, basic and with just enough of a girly twist to flatter your feet. These ones are hand-made to last, too: £28.99 at Shudoo

Dune Dazzle metal trim flat leather sandal

dunedazzleflats.jpg

I'm already about thisclose to booking a beachy holiday to Spain, and as soon as I saw these Dazzle sandals from Dune, I knew right at once that booking is happening asap, as I now need an excuse to buy these totally beach-worthy shoes.

I love a glam flat sandal but one that doesn't go too overboard with the bling. So these ones - with the angled metal detail on the toe thong - are what I'm going to be all about on holiday (well, aside from gorgeously-airy maxi dresses and killer beach-y hair!) At £45, they're a bargain for a shoe I already know I will wear to death.

Bargain Tuesday: £4 flip flops from Matalan

SCAT018-6260.jpgStill got your summer holiday ahead of you? Lucky you. But with most stores starting to stock up on winter footwear, it can be harder to find beach-friendly outfits, and you may not want to spend much on them when you do because, let's face it, you're not going to get a whole lot of wear out of them when you get home, are you?

This is where Matalan comes in. These silver flip flops may not set your world on fire, but they're prettier in real life than they are in the picture, will go with most outfits, look great with a bit of a tan, and are only £4. Sorted.

Art Company Woodstock textile sandal

artcompany_sandals.jpg

Change things up a bit this summer, whether you're hitting the beaches for a well-earned holiday or just strolling up to the shops on the weekend, in these pretty sandals by Art Company.

The patchwork and embroidered details give these sandals a unique spin on the cookie cutter flip flop styles we see here, there and everywhere (I still love you Havaianas, I do!) and will add a glam touch to a basic white sundress or denim playsuit. They're £50 from Sunrise Direct.

World's first ever grass flip flops - by Krispy Kreme

krispykreme_grassflipflops.jpg

I love you summer, I do, which is why I feel really rather bad picking on you. You have a lot of great qualities and I especially like it when you bring ol' sunshine out to play. But you have to understand that you + London on a hot day = damp air/frizzy hair, hugging up to sweaty bodies on the tube and coping with sweaty feet which slide around in my shoes. Some days I think you're the bees knees (usually when I'm laying in a nice park with a cool breeze and an icecream) but the reality is, most days, I'm actually smushed up against the tube door and that guy with the bad B.O. or sweating it out in the sauna that is our office.

What is the solution?? Read on to find out what Krispy Kreme came up with...

Accessorize fun floral flip-flops

accessorize flip flops.jpgIt really is emergency flip-flop weather out there! If you've left the house without footwear that's appropriate for the tropics today, chances are you'll wanting to change into something that's cheap, minimal and summery, so I'd suggest hot-footing it (ha ha) to your local branch of Accessorize.

They've got a wide range of flip-flops starting at £8 that will see you through the heatwave in style. I love this candy-pink floral pair with a transluscent thong. They won't last forever -- but neither will this heat!
