Iron Fist specialise in making shoes that won't be everyone's cup of tea, so they've achieved everything they set out to do with these 'Digi Skulls' pumps. With a gigantic concealed platform and a smattering of sequins, they're the ultimate in glam goth footwear.
If you're usual clubbing outfit is on the dark and decadent side these shoes will finish it off nicely. But they'd equally make an eyecatching difference to a more subdued ensemble for maximum effect.

Statement heels are still going strong and I love the stems on these substantial platform courts by L'Autre Chose.
Seen from a distance, the bejewelled heels just look shiny and bold, but when you zoom in you can see that the detailing is an intricately coiled chain pattern. The blue gemstones add extra sparkle, and give the shoes a real Art Deco appeal.

Boohoo.com is by no means a new entry into the buzzy world on online retailing. Peaking from behind ASOS.com with it's cheap and cheerful range of clothing and accessories, the brand is slowly emerging as a strong contender for my shopping sprees.
Their shoe ranges in particular have significantly improved. Take these silver Ashleen Twist Front Zip Platforms (£35) There is something a little bit Kurt Geiger about them.
All of the pieces are named after the celebrities whose style they imitate. Guess which Beth the next ones are named after...

Fair play to Amy Winehouse, she's managed to clean up her act this year and is said to be 100% free of illegal drugs after some time away from London and a certain on/off husband. She's even splashed out on a new pair of boobs to give her back some of her curvier figure.
Which is great. However there's one area of her life she hasn't cleaned up on, and it's starting to bother me.
Those old (and stained) ballet shoes need to go.
She's either walking about town in those or, even worse, wandering around barefoot. I think it's about time she invested in some new shoes.
Here are a few suggestions.

Ideal for those who love the Rupert Sanderson-style polished heels look but can't afford the real thing at the mo, these angular heels from Office are a real treat for parties, dressing up or formal occasions. The square toe adds just a bit of edge to what is otherwise a classic and very wearable style.
'Point and Square' has been available in a matte or faux-snakeskin finish for a while now, but these new versions feature the two essential colours of the season, and with a glossier, more glamorous finish.

There's a lot of experimentation going on around the basic 'block pump' style at the moment and I really like this take on the look by eco-conscious footwear line United Nude.
Taking inspiration from the catwalk styles of Lanvin, Prada et. al, the 'blocky' look is rendered particularly well in UN's trademark angular style. The heel is positively architectural, while the shiny uppers look good enough to eat.

So what's that we were hearing about how 'sensible' styles are in?
These innocuously-named 'suede platform shoes' by Gian Marco Lorenzi are about the most extreme take on a loafer I've ever seen, and a certain morbid curiosity makes me want to tail someone wearing these shoes just to see how long they last. Safety features aside, I'm really not a big fan of this shoe: even ignoring their height I think it's the two-tone 'sunrise' effect stiletto that really over-eggs the pudding.
