It was love at first look for me with these 'Attitude' courts from Bertie, which have a bit of a vintage look about them, with that lovely ruffle on the front, and the elegant stiletto heel. The fact that the uppers are fabric surprised me at first, but if you visit the Bertie website and use the "zoom" feature to have a better look at them, you'll hopefully agree that it works.
That "zoom" feature also lets you take a closer look at that ruffle, which has a little metal bar holding it together - a nice touch, I think. These are also available in black, and would look great with a pencil skirt, wide waist belt and chic little 40s style hat. They're £75.

Whilst reading Kate Schelter's 'Top Six Shoe Trends For Fall 2008' on The Huffington Post, I couldn't help but agree - the time has definitely come for the statement shoe to takeover from the it-bag.
Check out these unbelievable silver pumps designed by Sergio Rossi. Not only doesn't look like a muppet might have perished for the cause, they will, as Schelter attests, stop traffic. That is, if PETA doesn't catch up with you first. Made from python and fox, they currently retail for US$1,095 via Sergio Rossi's website.

Um, remember yesterday, when I was talking about Valentino, and how great they are at using bows? I think these shoes may be taking it just a little too far...
Now, if you're a regular reader, you'll know that I love bows on shoes. But everyone has a limit, and I think mine has been reached with these shoes, which are just overpowered by that fussy, heavy, layered bow on the front. One bow could have been fabulous, but I think seven (if I'm counting correctly) counts as overkill. You, of course, may disagree, and if you disagree to the point where you want to buy these, you'll find them at Neiman Marcus, where they're $695.

Get ready for grown-up Autumn dressing with these classic herringbone pumps from Forzieri. The contrasting black panels bring the look up to date, but seen close up, they've got a fabulously detailed velvet bow ornament on the toes, which really add to that look of 40s vintage glamour.

There is something luxurious about jewel coloured suede shoes, and these Loeffler Randall Clover Scales Pumps are no exception. Cut to show off your foot to perfection, they feature scale like detail across the vamp of the shoe. To enhance the detailing, the underside of the pleating has been lined with patent leather. Just don't forget to treat these shoes with a few sprays of a suede protector so they doesn't stain easily when they come into contact with liquids. They're way too pretty (and expensive at $425) to ruin.

Looks like Stella McCartney is the latest designer to jump aboard the decorated heel bandwagon, with these metal heeled flower pumps, which are $795 at Neiman Marcus. In addition to the stand-out heel, Stella has also added a sculpted vamp to the front of this shoe, making it eye-catching no matter what angle you view it from. I love the front, but am not quite so convinced by the back - I have a feeling that metal would snag on all kind of things if I were to try wearing it!
