The sun has finally started to shine, so it's time to break out the bright colours - if you haven't already. These pink peep toes from Moda in Pelle have a fairly thick, 75cm heel, so they should be relatively easy to walk in, while the two shades of pink should br bright enough for even the most dedicated fans of the colour. They're also available in a brown snake print, and are £90.

These shoes were found hiding away in the 'Mary Jane' section of Viva la Diva, but they're almost unrecognisable as Mary Janes, thanks to the sweetheart-style vamp and wide leather strap, which is covered in flower-shaped cutouts. Viva la Diva say this style reminds them of flamenco dancers: I'm not quite seeing that, but I do like the lilac coloured leather, and think that wide strap at least wouldn't cut into the top of my foot, the way some Mary Jane styles do. These are £59.99 and are also available in a lovely cream leather. Buy them here.

You know summer has really arrived when shoes with flowers all over them start to arrive in the stores. These ones are by New Look, and although the words "floral print shoes" may well conjure up images of the type of footwear only little girls should ever attempt to wear, I think these are rather restrained. They also come in back, and are fresh and summery without being too "twee", or looking too much like the type of shoes you'd only be able to wear to a wedding. These would work with lots of different outfits, from simple cotton skirts and t-shirts to denim or more "dressed up" pieces. They're also only £20, which makes them a bit of a bargain...

We're always being told that coral is one of this summer's hot colours, but how would you wear it? What would you wear it with? Well, now's your chance to find out, because this week's Play the Shoe Stylist Challenge involves these coral t-bar sandals from ASOS, which are £25.
As always, the rules are here , and the deadline is 9am on Tuesday morning. Have fun!

A word to the wise: if canvas sneakers are on your summer shopping list, take a look at Dorothy Perkins. They have lots of canvas shoes in at the moment, in both high top and classic styles, and the prices are very reasonable - the blue shoes shown here are £18, and the low lace-ups just £12. These come in yellow, black and white as well as blue, and all will make great casual shoes for warmer weather.

I'm not sure quite what to make of these pink ASOS t-bars. They look a little bit like the t-bar was an afterthought, which gives it a bit of a "tacked on" feeling. Despite that, the cut-out front is cute, as is the bright pink colour. These are also available in black, and look like a totally different shoe, which would be great for work, or more formal occasions. They're £25.

On my screen, these Dorothy Perkins sandals look more of a dusky pink than a "coral", but let's not quibble about colour when there are shoes to be looked at! These also come in silver and black, and at £40 are slightly more expensive than Dorothy Perkins' usual fare - probably because they're 100% leather. They're also a little more interesting than most t-bar sandals, with that twisted front and slightly chunky heel helping to make them look like they'd be comfortable enough to wear or day.
