Cap toe pumps courtesy of Chanel, Guess and Dune

toe-caps.jpg

Just in case you haven't noticed, black and white Spectator pumps are going to be pretty big this winter. Christian Louboutin may be stealing the spotlight at the moment with his 'Emily' shoe boots, but he's far from the only one using this distinctive style. Chanel's classic white pumps with black toe cap are on the left of the picture above, and are one of the designs Chanel is famous for. Guess, meanwhile, have added a black heel and platform to their versions (centre), while Dune have given theirs a slingback plus a subtle criss-cross design on the toe. Which do you like best?

Christian Louboutin's 'Emily'? No. they're Steve Madden's 'Chap' shoe boots. Spot the difference!

CHAP-WHITE-LEATHER.jpg

My apologies for writing about the same shoe designer twice in one day, but while I was browsing the Steve Madden website for the last article, I couldn't help but notice something a little strange. "Hey, they've put a pair of Louboutins on Steve Madden's site by mistake!" I thought. They haven't though. The shoes on the left of this picture may look just like Christian Louboutin's controversial 'Emily' shoe boots , but they're actually 'Chap' by Steve Madden, who's pulling his familiar "looking a lot like Louboutin" trick again. The Louboutins are on the right, and the only difference I can see is the red sole - oh, and the massive difference in price, of course, with Madden charging just $149.95 to Mr. Louboutin's $1,053.

Will you be any more likely to wear them, though, now that you can buy a version for a fraction of the price?

More Chloe-style Mary Janes - this time courtesy of Next

00020m.jpg

OK, I know these buckled Mary Janes from Next aren't exactly the same as their designer counterparts on the left of this picture (the Chloe versions have three straps, plus that fabulous metal-tipped heel), but it's not hard to see where the inspiration came from, is it? Next are slightly late to the party with this one - Ravel have already beat them to the punch with a more accurate copy, but given that Ravel is soon off to the giant shoe-store in the sky, these might be your best bet if you fancy some Chloe-style shoes for only £45. Even if you don't fancy these, I recommend taking a look at the shoe section of Next's new autumn/winter directory - it's designer-inspired shoes a go-go over there, with Roger Vivier style flats and some other familiar styles from the catwalk.

Topshop's £50 version of Victoria Beckham's mirror shine silver shoes

metalts.jpgAfter Cameron Diaz and Victoria Beckham both showed up at the same event wearing super shiny silver shoes, we knew it wouldn't be long before the high street bought us an affordable option. We've mentioned some copycat styles before, but these ones from Topshop are definitely the closest to Posh's mirror shine stilettos. Yours for £50, they're also available in a myriad of other shades. I'm loving the 80s electric blue. Pure tack!

Oasis do a 'Macy' with their Jimmy Choo-alike sale sandals

spotthedif.jpg
I love a good game of spot the difference. Right now I'd be drawing a little circle around the platform sole of the right shoe, and noting the blindingly obvious fact that one sandal is blue and the other is black. Maybe I'd circle the heel too, since one is more spindly than the other. And the label of course. But then I'd be a little bit stuck. You see, Oasis have done such a good job of replicating the classic Jimmy Choo 'Macy' sandal that even I'd have to look twice if I saw them on the street. The biggest difference? About £350. The original designer offering will set you back £375. Oasis have put theirs in the sale for £25. Good news if you're a size 36!

Go Jane attempt to oudo Miu Miu on the jewelled heel front (but fail)

crapfakes.jpgThere are certain looks you should avoid if you're trying to do something cheaply, and I think we've come across three of them here. The thought was there - bringing the world an affordable version of Miu Miu's jewel covered heels - but somehow teaming the jewels with a perspex heel and a mustard yellow upper is such an explosion of trends that it's no wonder the shoes are now down to a ridiculous $9.99 at Go Jane. Wear them with caution, you'll need to have your tongue lodged permanently in your cheek for them to work!

Dorothy Perkins do Marc Jacobs with these cut-price strappy patent sandals

dpmj.jpg
Dorothy Perkins' very Marc Jacobs-esque chunky strap sandals (left) are down to £12 in the sale. For that price you can definitely justify buying a bright colour like green or yellow over the original silvers and neutrals (right). I still can't decide whether this particular style is actually quite cool or whether seeing it so often over recent months has just meant I've built up an immunity to the granny-ish feel (I'm edging toward the latter)...but if you find most heels too delicate and most wedges too chunky, it is a nice compromise that won't leave you with painful feet at the end of a long day.
