I really think these courts by Dune ought to be renamed 'Darling' (as I originally read it) rather than their actual name of 'Daring', due to their extreme cuteness. Like many of Dune's offerings, these manage to retain a certain dignified, grown-up quality about them despite being essentially quite Minnie-Mouse. And at just £65 these classy party numbers are surprisingly low-cost when it wasn't so long ago we were raising our eyebrows at Dune's inflated prices. Did they notice? Available online at Dune

Kitten heels! Not something we've seen much of in recent times, but king of the killer heel himself Christian Louboutin has bestowed these ankle boots from his new range with the daintiest of stems, which is bound to catch on with other designers - a move I'm sure our feet will welcome. While the heels may have strayed from the narrow path of fashion, the sharply pointed toe brings them right up to date, bringing with it the elegance we've come to associate with Louboutin. £410 at Net-a-Porter

Te Casan is a brand that really came to fame this year with Natalie Portman and her collection of vegan shoes, now Zoe Lee has designed a collection of limited edition shoes, one of which are these interesting Liu pumps. These beige patent pumps have been given an edge with their 2 ½" heels which feature gold foiling detail and smooth leather section at the heel of the shoe. The best part is, thanks to BlueFly, you won't be paying the full retail price - they've been marked down from $295 to $177.

The first I thought when I saw these Pedro Garcia 'Kirsten' heels, apart from 'oh goody they're on sale', was - 'aren't they just the spitting image of Miu Miu's pearlized paillette pumps?' Of course, the Miu Miu pumps are made from sequins and not silver metallic python, but you get where I'm coming from, right?
Anyway, the best bit about these heels is that they are currently half price at My-wardrobe.com. I'm a bit of a sucker for that snakeskin look, and this silver pair could easily see through me many glitzy occasions. Reduced from £360 to £180, they are food for thought in these credit-crunching times.

A little bit of moccassin here, a little bit mukluk there (with some knitted ugg thrown in for good measure), these "sweater boots" are a whole lotta fun and an amusing addition to your winter shoe collection.
Either wear them under your jeans or trousers for a very sedate loafer look, or amp up the fun-factor and team them with a cutesy grey dress and coloured opaques. They're $194 from Revolve Clothing, so you may wish to buy your 'investment' boots first before splurging on these!

Here we have yet another take on the ongoing star-print trend, albeit a slightly more subtle one than usual - if, of course, a pair of silver platform shoes can ever be described as "subtle"! The stars on these Red or Dead peep toes could easily be mistaken for dots, though, which means the shoes themselves will hopefully have a little more longevity than some of the star-spangled shoes we've seen. As for the rest of the shoe, well, it's glitzy and glam, and everything you'd expect a Not-So-Casual Friday shoe to be, basically! These are £64.99 and available from Viva la Diva.
