We love leopard print, and we love jewel tones. Put together, however, and the results are not pretty: just check out this bizarre style from Shelly's! There is way too much going on here, and the balance is totally out of whack: heels this chunky need to be balanced out, and we don't think that thin sliver of patent really does them justice.
What's even uglier however, is the price: I'd expect a 'fun' style like this to come in at around the £30 mark, not eat into my serious shoe shopping money. The uppers are real leather, which probably accounts for the cost, but let's face it - you wouldn't be able to tell!

I've been after a pair of riding boots exactly like these ones for ages, having spotted them out on the street and looking amazing on various well-dressed legs - so I was more than happy to hunt them down to the easy destination of Topshop.
These boots, with their 'it shouldn't work!' combination of black and brown bring a real rustic feel to the urban environment, with the ruddy brown reminding us of a generous splash of mud.
The boots are 100% leather, with a lovely slight crinkle on the surface. I can't say whether they'd be suitable for actual riding purposes, but would certainly like to wear them over my jeans!

Things have been busier than ever behind the scenes here at Shoewawa lately, and we can now tell you that there are big changes afoot: our parent company Aigua Media is about to give all of its sites a dramatic makeover, and we plan to mark the occasion in suitably glamorous style.
Having worked our socks off to get the launch under way, the team here at Aigua is looking forward to letting our hair down for one night only at an exclusive venue in Central London. That night is Wednesday 2nd November, and we'd like one reader to take on the task of covering the event for us: in other words acting as our official guest blogger for the night - taking advantage of our hospitality for the night while mingling with our VIP guests.
This is a fabulous opportunity for anyone who wants to make it big in the dynamic world of fashion blogging, and in return we'll offer you exclusive coverage of our VIP event. No other bloggers are being invited (not even those who've crossed the boundary into full-on media stardom), so you'll be the only one to get the scoop.

We love Swedish Hasbeens in the summer! The crazy colourful clogs were a huge hit once again this year, and the H&M range caused quite a stir when it first appeared in store. But we've never quite got our heads around the brand's winter styles.
These boots, however, may change our minds. Sure, they're nothing immediately special or pretty, but the leather is top notch, and the black looks amazing against the super soft crepe soles and apricot-coloured trim.
A bit like DMs with an extra comfy kick, the shoes are also lined with warm and bouncy faux-shearling. I think it'll take me as long as the temperature takes to drop to be a convert...

In the same way, the chilly weather might mean you have to put away your flip flops and open-toed shoes, but it also means you can invest in these rainbow heels from Red or Dead.
Schuh gave us a little sneak peak at them on their Facebook page. They'll be available in time for payday, in early November, for £90.

New Look have made the rather odd (but very welcome!) decision to slash the prices of many of its boots this week, with some very autumn/winter friendly styles now on sale for as little as £10 or in some cases £5. We're almost wondering if it's a mistake, but in the meantime we're getting our credit cards at the ready...
The black pleated high-leg boots, for example, are now £10 reduced from £39, while a pair of achingly trendy platform ankle boots are also £10 reduced from a lofty £64.99.
