Ugly Shoe of the Week: Lurid Leopard

We love leopard print, and we love jewel tones. Put together, however, and the results are not pretty: just check out this bizarre style from Shelly's! There is way too much going on here, and the balance is totally out of whack: heels this chunky need to be balanced out, and we don't think that thin sliver of patent really does them justice. What's even uglier however, is the price: I'd expect a 'fun' style like this to come in at around the £30 mark, not eat into my serious shoe shopping money. The uppers are real leather, which probably accounts for the cost, but let's face it - you wouldn't be able to tell!

£56 at New Look

Tulisa in Office 'After Dark' heels

Tulisa Contostavlos is no stranger to statuesque heels, and it's good to be able to track down her footwear choices to affordable high street establishments from time to time! These feisty platforms, with their fetishy corset-tied toes are very much in keeping with Tulisa's style attitude, and it turns out that the star picked them up at Office. `

Whose shoes: pink fetish heels

This French-born actress has gone for an interesting combination of peachy pink and heavy duty fetish-style chains as she steps out at a Paris premiere. The shoes, which are by Christian Dior, really blur the boundaries between ladylike eveningwear and 'dungeon chic', and while we're not sure they'd be high on our list of shoes to save up for, they've certainly got us mesmerised.
YAY OR NAY: Slipper style shoes

A year ago, I shudder to think what any self-respecting shoe lover would have said if I suggested she go out during the day (or, heaven forefend, the evening) in slippers. However, with remarkable rapidity, we've mostly come around to wearing this 'old man' style in all kinds of situations - and many of our favourite designers have brought out a slipper or two.
