Mary Jane Monday: Minna Parikka patents

minna-parikka.jpgWho could possibly resist these ravishing red patent shoes with a heart (we always love a heart) by Minna Parikka? The perfectly beautiful stilettos are available at Tatty Devine boutique, where they cost an ouchy (but worth it) £210, and will make you feel every bit a starlet. I can imagine wearing these with reds, whites and ginham blues in summer or a little black dress in winter. A wonderful twist on the classic high heel. [Via Domestic Sluttery]

Mary Jane Monday: Eley Kishimoto colour block MJ

eley-kishimoto-mary-janes.jpgEley Kishimoto make wonderful shoes that are as quirky and stylish as their garments, and these colour block Mary Janes are a great find on Farfetch, where their price has been reduced by 39%. A twist on a classic style, the lengthened Mary Janes will lend grace and elegance to the feet, and the beige and coral tones are very fashionable shades right now. £124 at Farfetch.com

Mary Jane Monday: Rupert Sanderson lizard MJs

rupert-sanderson.jpgWhatever you do to a pair of Mary Janes, it's hard not to make them look a little bit girly, but this is probably the most grown-up looking pair I've ever seen. They're by Rupert Sanderson and their uppers are grey lizard, with an unusual cut-out bit at the back and skinny stiletto heel.

The grey/black on lemon shade makes these a very seasonal shoe that could be worn with sheer or block-coloured hosiery. £650 at Browns

Dune's 'Klaudia' oversized corsage-trim sandals

dune-klaudia.jpgI know, it's another flower-trimmed sandal, but seriously, how could anyone resist these 'Klaudia' sandals from Dune? They're just so bright and sunny, especially in this yellow colour (they're also available in black and pink) that they make me want to throw them on with a big-skirted sundress and ... oh, I don't know, go for a picnic? Drink Pimms on the lawn? Sadly, the weather isn't quite warm enough for any of that, but these will make fabulous special-occasion shoes, and will help put a bit of a spring into your step. They're £85 from Dune.

Mary Jane Monday: Blush toe-cap Mary Janes from Dorothy Perkins

blush-toe-cap-mary-janes.jpg

Ooh, how very "Chanel"! These toe-cap Mary Janes from Dorothy Perkins would be perfect for a pretty/classic kind of look - and will make a nice change from all those gladiator sandals and platforms, too! They're only £20, have a pretty, blush coloured upper, and will instantly smarten up anything you wear them with. Go "Blair Waldorf" with white tights, pearls and a headband, or dress them down with jeans - up to you!

Mary Jane Monday: Sakina multi-strap platforms from Topshop

sakina-platforms.jpgThese shoes are rather pushing the boundaries of the term "Mary Jane", because they're a mix of a few different styles, with platform soles, and a double ankle-strap, on top of that triple Mary Jane style strap! Add to this a vivid orange strap, and what you end up with is a shoe that may not be the most versatile one in your wardrobe, but which is definitely a lot of fun. I'd wear these with darker colours, like black or grey skinny jeans/dresses, but if you prefer to stand out, you could always try them with something that will clash!

Mary Jane Monday: Grey double-strap Mary Janes from Forever 21

f21-mary-janes.jpgI thought we'd go for a budget option for today's Mary Jane Monday column, just in case the Christmas shopping is forcing you to reign back on your shoe spending a little. These grey double-strap Mary Janes are from Forever 21, and while they're never going to be the best-made shoes in your collection, the fact that they're only $19.80, and in a style you're bound to get lots of wear out of before they finally fall apart, may just make up for that. They're also available in black, and you can buy a pair here.
