Technical issues prevented us from bringing you your regularly-scheduled Mary Jane love-in yesterday, so rather than let you go without, here's a picture of Jimmy Choo's 'Kindle' patent Mary Janes to make up for it.
These are classic in shape, but sometimes you need a little bit of classic Mary Jane shape in your life, and if you do, you can buy these at Net-a-Porter, where the bad news is that they'll set you back £350.

These are billed as "Mary Janes", but they're so far removed from the conventional Mary Jane shape we've come to know and love as to be almost unrecognisable. They're Jonathan Kelsey's 'Cleo' heels, they're exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue, and they're $695. If the price doesn't put you off, however, you'll get yourself an unusual, yet very wearable, shoe in a lovely metallic leather that should prove very versatile.

This Monday we thought we'd bring you a pop of colour with your regularly scheduled Mary Jane fix, so here are five pairs of red shoes to brighten your day.
These 'Glinda' shoes from Amazon are the ultimate 'Dorothy' shoes, with all that red glitter. That's going to make them totally impractical for all but the very glitziest of occasions, of course, but I don't think a roundup of red Mary Janes would be complete without them, do you? Read on for some more...

What's the only thing better than a beautiful pair of Mary Janes? Five beautiful pairs of Mary Janes, of course, which is why we're giving you five whole pairs to admire on this Mary Jane Monday, rather than just one.
Take a look under the jump to see some more styles, kicking off with my favourites, these nude patent platform Mary Janes by Yves St. Laurent. Also available in black, they have a crescent toe and delicate stiletto heel. They're absolutely gorgeous, which is why it should come as no surprise that they cost $595...

Multistrap Mary-Janes are not on their way out just yet! At least, not until I've got my hands on a pair of these cheeky and totally glam 'Marlee' shoes by Juicy Couture.
It's the gold-plated look that gives these pumps their 'vintage' look, and the cute flower cut-out detail on the toe gives them the edge over the many similar styles out there. I reckon they'd be pretty hard-wearing too, and look sturdy enough to survive any night on the town.

The shape of this shoe has lots going for it, but I have to admit, it's the fabulous bright blue colour that really catches the eye. The high platform sole, and round buckle fastening also appeal - in fact, the only thing that doesn't is the $595 price tag! They're by Sergio Rossi and the uppers are a soft suede: the platform, meanwhile, is one inch high, while the heel is 4.5", so they'll give you a real height boost, too.

How to give a little bit of life to your Mary Janes? Make them in leopard print, of course! That's exactly what Pedro Garcia has done with these shoes , changing them from a sensible day shoe to something that will spice up any outfit you want to wear them with. I love leopard print shoes, so I'm equally enamoured with these ones, but if you're not so keen on the print, they're also available in black patent. They're £220 at My-Wardrobe.com.
