We tend to focus mainly on Balenciaga's catwalk styles around here; impossibly cool creations that would be a challenge to walk in, let alone stump up the funds to buy, so it's good to look at some of their more down-to-earth designs for a change.

Balenciaga never fail to impress us with their designs, and look to be about to continue that tradition with their collection for autumn/winter 2010. While I'm not sure that the shoe on the right would exactly be ideal for the English winter, I'm not going to

It's always good to see what Balenciaga are doing with their footwear (even if you'll never afford a pair) because they seem to be so influencial it's possible to predict entire trends based on their latest offerings. But this is one I can't see becoming too

What do you think of these new styles from Balenciaga? The obsession with geometric styling is still in evidence, but 'plasticky' toy-tone notes have been replaced with a more hand-woven vibe, with a big emphasis on soft textiles. That's quite a departure for

Balenciaga is back with a crop of new styles for A/W 09/10, but they're keeping the new styles under wraps: draping is a look they've gone in for heavily in their runway shows, with shoes and boots getting an extra pop of colour thanks to contrasting fabric ties

A pair of comfy and stylish boots are a necessity in winter. If they're not comfy, you haven't a hope in wearing them and for the price you pay for boots (not to mention, the warmth they bring your legs), you're going to want to wear them as much as possible
