Susie Lau of the infamous Style Bubble has recently turned her hand from blogging to designing, and the results have blown us away. So much so that we're really not sure what we think! In particular, we're stumped on this rather post-modern looking platform

An exciting new style that's just entered our orbit here at Shoewawa is this spotty stiletto style by Dolce & Gabbana, which takes last year's craze for cuff sandals and turns it into something altogether more jolly, summery and fun.

We're all about the tractor-sole shoes at the moment, thanks to the fertile imaginations of Camilla Skovgaard, Azzedine Alaia et al, but this is a new and much softer take on the look. The sharp zig-zags are replaced in these Pollini shoes by scallops, and the

The Fendi logo is one that seems to be getting around rather a lot at the moment, with all sorts of celebrity followers showing themselves to be part of the clan. Milla Jovovich was recently seen flashing the Fendi at Berlin Fashion Week, and Katherine Heigl

Katy Perry certainly looks like she's having a good time in these brick red clog-style boots, which we recognise from Opening Ceremony's range. The long socks look is a tough one to pull off, but she's wearing them with the right attitude, and that's what really

It's odd that it should happen in July, but velvet seems to be having a mini-revival in footwear at the moment. Not all-over velvet - that would be madness in summer. But small amounts of velvet decoration and embellishment that sits against the foot and looks

OK, so they're still not exactly cheap, but I wanted to take another moment to bask in the gloriousness of Stella McCartney's fish-scale platform sandals, and their not-too-shabby 40% reduction in the Farfetch sale is allowing me to do so.

If 2009 was the year of the statement heel, it seems that this one is shaping up to be the year of the 'statement wedge'. Wedges are a gift to designers, providing a huge blank canvas to decorate and play around with, so I'm glad that so many are choosing to

If you can cope with the dreaded 'winter open toe' then this bootie by Opening Ceremony could see you through to the first snowdrops in style. It's not a complex or ambitious design, but the slender yet sturdy heel, clean contours and neat silver eyelets make

Cork has crept up and up from its traditional position on the sole of the shoe, but is it now getting ideas above its station? This sandal by Diego Dolcini has a cork upper with a wooden heel, and I personally think the style works well - but not all shoe fans

We've been overrun by shoe-boots, and now the next generation of shoe hybrids is upon us it seems. Readers, let me introduce you to... sandal boots. Literally half Sandal, half boot. Inspired. I don't like them. I might change my mind if I saw them on a foot,

I have a bit of a shoe-crush developing on these very shapely patent slip-ons by king of shoe indulgence, Roger Vivier. At £569 they're way out of my price range (and if I'd be far more likely to pick the black version if I were ever tempted by the style) but

Now that is what I call a platform! Casadei are playing arond with some quite extreme styles at the moment and this sandal is one experiment that I'd certainly deem a success. It's got the looped strap look going on, which is a style that's red hot at the moment.
