Moda in Pelle jazz it up with blue sequins

moda-in-pelle.JPGWe've made no secret of being fans of 'Dorothy shoes' around here, but I have a particular fondness for sequinned heels that come in colours other than the classic (but obvious) red.

I'm mainly lusting after KG's 'Dolly' in green more than anything else, but Moda in Pelle have promised a super sparkly A/W range to cut through all the A/W gloom, and they certainly succeed with these 'Jazz' heels, shown here in deeply fashionable blue.

£80 at Kurt Geiger

Charity Shop Shoes: Melissa's Origami

melissa-origami.jpgWe all like to revel in the joy of our latest shoe purchase, so I hope you'll forgive me for a moment while I talk about mine.

Charity shops aren't usually a great place to find shoes, in my experience, since even on those rare occasions where you do find something lovely and in your size it invariably turns out that its previous owner had bunyons or a fungal foot infection adding a certain unwanted 'aroma' to your purchase.

The shoes I found at Save The Children in Edinburgh ARE scented, but happily, not in the way I've come to expect from second-hand stores: instead, they have the unmistakable bubblegum smell of a pair of brand new Melissa shoes, as the shop is selling off unworn 'Origami' shoes in various sizes for a fiver. I'd only gone in for an umbrella, but was more than happy to come out with two extra waterproof items in my bag. Just look how shiny they are! These look wonderful with sundresses and are elegantly quilted for extra comfort. Can't make it to Edinburgh? They're also on sale for £22 (reduced from £45) here.

Handmade shoes by French & English confectioners

When you can buy a pair of trendy shoes for £10 in Peacock's, it's no surprise that many of us yearn to see something a little more individual and long-lasting on our feet. But where can you find quality footwear that's truly unique?

handmade-shoes.JPGOld-fashioned cobblers are few and far between, and ones with a working knowledge of that fashion business are even rarer. But French and English Confectioners have got the balance just right with their limited-edition runs of superbly comfortable and high quality footwear, each pair made for you.

Each shoe will be one of just 18 to 20 pairs, so if you see one you like, you have to pounce. I spotted this lovely cream and black crossover sandal for £215 on Folksy but the rest of the current range is here.

My Favourite Shoes: Lesley's chocolate brown suede wedges

suede-wedges.jpg Time for another quick look inside the shoe cupboard of one of our readers! This week it's the turn of Lesley, who has sent in this picture of her favourite shoes. Lesley writes:

"These are, without a doubt, my favourite shoes. They are by Accessoire, in chocolate brown suede with a wedge heel and platform, thin strappy bits and an amazing crystal brooch at the front. They are even lined in suede, so the soles of your feet feel like they are being caressed! They are even more precious and amazing to me as I find fashionable shoes incredibly difficult to get in my size, a UK 2. Hope you like them as much as me."

My Favourite Shoes: Jenny's pretty Kenzie wedges

shoes-shoes.jpg Everyone loves a pair of shoes that can work equally well for work and play, day and night, and Shoewawa reader Jenny says that her favourite shoes, these feminine wedges from Kenzie, do just that! Jenny says:

"I stumbled on them on eBay by accident. I think they were about $55 USD. They are more daytimish, but I have worn them at night. They go with jeans, skirts, gauchos. I wear lots of pinks and very feminine girlish styles, so they work with almost everything I own. And they
are comfy!"

My Favourite Shoes: Sonja's green Lifestrides slides

green-slides.jpgI'm starting to see a pattern emerge here. As much as we all love to look at gorgeous designer footwear, most of the shoes you nominate as your own personal favourites
tend to be the bargains you've managed to snap up for a song, and have been wearing and loving ever since.

Just to prove the point, Shoewawa reader Sonja says she picked up these green Lifestrides slides for just $7 when she was working at Macy's. Bargain! "Who doesn't need a pair of green slides?" asks Sonja. "Who? Plus, since they're Lifestrides, they really are way comfortable. I love 'em. No one has to know I only paid $7 for them. Well, except the whole Internet now, I guess."

Got a pair of shoes you'd like to share with the Internet? (Not literally, of course - a picture is all we ask!) Email us your pictures and don't foregt to tell us why you love them!
