Paris Fashion Week S/S 2010: Chanel gets clogging

chanel_parisclogs.jpg
Is Karl Lagerfeld bringing back the clog? It appears so.

At the Chanel S/S 2010 show in Paris on Tuesday, Lagerfeld got a little bit country by erecting a giant haystack in the middle of the runway for his models to strut their stuff around.

They didn't wear wellies either. Instead, the designer added a touch of Dutch courage by presenting a collection of high-heeled clogs.

Embellished with brooches and studs, the wooden-heeled clogs provided the necessary rustic element to a rural-inspired collection. Yee-haw!

Paris Fashion Week S/S 2010: Alexander McQueen goes to extremes

alexandermcqueen_ss2010_parisfashionweek.jpg

The show to create the most buzz from Paris Fashion Week over the past 24 hours came from Alexander McQueen. The British design legend once again brought out the big guns to present the most whimsical and outrageous collection of the week.

Collaborating with Lady Gaga (naturally, I mean look at those shoes), McQueen's live stream of his show was brought to a sudden end after Gaga fans logged onto SHOWstudio.com to hear the world premiere of her latest single which was played on the catwalk. Note to Gaga: it probably wasn't wise to Tweet that you were debuting your hot new track just 30 mins prior to show time. Oops!

But back to those incredible shoes...

New Shoes: Jenne O's latest footwear collection

jenne-o-boots.jpgJenne O shoes can be difficult to come by, but are so worth the wait once you track them down. There's not much on the website to give away what the exclusive label is doing at present, so I snapped a few pics at London Fashion Week to give you an idea of what you can expect in the coming season. As ever, the range is available through the Jenne O Boutique, and in selected stores you can find on the site.

I love Jenne O's use of metallic fabrics this season - particularly in the ankle boots pictured top. The shape of the heels is kept fairly consistent throughout the range: a stylish, slightly tapered stiletto that reminds me a bit of Rupert Sanderson's heels.

To see more from Jenne O, check out more collections here.

Renzo Rainero shoes for spring summer 2010

renzo-rainero-shoes2.jpgI've only recently become aware of Argentinian label Renzo Rainero, whose lovely leather bags are sold at London boutique Gilda's Tryst. So I was delighted to see that in addition to its accessory range, RR makes shoes, and even happier to receive these pics from the little-known but chic label's new range.

The snakeskin look is still going strong in these spring/summer shoes, and I'm surprised to admit that I think the floral corsage works with it rather well. As for the giant 'bamboo' wedges - I think they should have stayed in the 70s. But it's good to get a glimpse of what's yet to come.

Tamara Mellon updates her favourites with Jimmy Choo 24/7 collection

jimmychoo_24_7collection.jpgDespite whatever may be going on with Tamara Mellon personally, the lady certainly knows her shoes.

The Jimmy Choo creative director has unveiled a new collection featuring updated versions of her favourite styles. Named Choo 24/7, it includes such styles as 'Icons', 'Perfect Platforms', and the 'Perfect Flat' in a variety of colours and heel heights.

The range is slated to launch to coincide with Jimmy Choo's spring/summer 2010 collection. It will be sold throughout Jimmy Choo stores from January next year. [via Vogue UK]

Shop Spotlight: Oli

poeticlicencefanribbontiecourt2.jpgRecently, I've noticed that online store Oli have really upped their game in the footwear department. I've fallen in love with, and added to my imaginary shopping cart, several of the shoe styles at the moment. Most of the range looks fresh from the catwalk.

I love every single inch of these Poetic Licence Fan Ribbon Tie Court. The bow detail is delicate, ending in the heart details which Poetic Licence are becoming known for. The fan edges give a nod to the lace trend, and the peeptoe is still popular for Winter.

It's £65, and also comes in a suede turquoise version which contrasts with the patent black patent hell.

What else have they got?

Seriously cute Olivia Morris shoes for autumn/winter

olivi.jpgI couldn't pick just one from the wonderful new collection by Olivia Morris, so forgive me for bringing you a whole rack of them instead, spotted at LFW. Each one is a gem in its own right, but the ruffled-strap, crossover sandals pictured far left are particularly worthy of note. I can see these being a fabulous and tasteful party shoe later on in the season.

Looking at the Chanel-esque toe capped shoes in plaid and fucshia, I'm persuaded for a change to conclude that Coco would not be turning in her grave at this 'homage'. Who couldn't love this collection?

The whole new collection in all its glory can be seen at Olivia Morris.
