Every girl's handbag needs a few essential items. You've got your obvious choices, your phone, purse and lipgloss, and then you've got those other things you need 'just in case'. Umbrella's, hairslides and my trusty Redfoot Revolution shoes all fall into the latter category.
For those not familar with the brand, RR produce fold up shoes that you can put into your handbag for work commutes, round the office, and that long walk home after a night on the dance floor. I've got a few pairs in various handbags, and I've bought them for friends for Christmas and birthdays as everyone tends to ask where they can get some.
So I was pretty excited to hear they'd bought out a new range....and even more excited to hear that it's Sex and the City themed, and comes in this gorgeous mini shoe box (right)

After unveiling a range of accessories last season for Versace's revived Versus line, Christopher Kane has just added a womenswear and (more!) shoes to his spring 2010 collection.
Collaborating with Donatella Versace, it's obvious who Kane has taken inspiration from... erm, Liz Hurley's iconic 1994 safety pin dress, anyone? In footwear, he has incorporated burnt orange colours, chain detailing, and brushed metal. Apparently the only flat shoes were a pair of Chelsea boots, in a similar style to Kane's last Versus collection.

Ever since we heard that Jimmy Choo was designing a more affordable line for H&M we have been sitting on the edge of our seats for what he will come up with. Now, a sneak peek of the collection, which also includes clothes and accessories, has come to our attention and the shoes... well, they ain't bad at all. I'm loving the strappy two tone heels, studded shoe boots, and animal print stilettos. Can Tamara Mellon make the line a hit? We'll see... The range is available in stores on 14 November.

Since I was little, I always had a thing for suede footwear. I'm not sure if it's the feel of the soft material, or the luxurious look it gives the item, but I've always been drawn to it. This is particularly if it's covering a pair of very high, very sexy heels.
So you can probably see why I love these Asos Suede Heel Flash Court shoes. Not only are they coated in my favourite fabric, but they also come in my favourite colour of purple! Look closer and you'll notice they've got a metal flash design at the top of the heel. This flash looks particularly nice in the taupe version of the shoe, giving it a designer look. Luckily, it's only £60 from ASOS.
Fancy a cheaper version?

It's certainly interesting to compare and contrast Christian Siriano's first collection for Payless with the specimens above, which have just been debuted at New York Fashion Week. He's kept to the same basic shapes, but has really run with the exaggerated and distended heel, which is going to be an epic trend in the new year, with each designer outdoing the last to put their own twist on the theme of 'wonky heels'.
I have to say, I love it - especially since each style has been very different, from Rupert Sanderson's Gio Ponti 'fork' heels to Dior's outward-facing horns. These ones, however, are rather more claw-like. They've been used in combination with a more springlike version of the predominant colour palate for A/W: electric blue progresses to a paler and smudgier hue while black leather gives way to neutral tan. If you were one of the majority of readers who gave a 'big fat nay' to the return of chunky heels to our footwear, you're not going to be too impressed by what I saw on my travels this week: Schuh have just brought out these shoes with super thick contrast heels!
The 'Luna' block heeled court is available either in a black suede version with a hot pink heel, or electric blue suede with a metallic heel. I actually think the colour contrast helps: it makes it more about the block colour trend and less about the block heel one. But this is a trend I can see slipping in through the back door, so watch out if you want to avoid it!

New Look do a great job at nailing current trends, so I've been excited to see what's in store for budget-conscious shoppers this autumn. I've picked out these styles from their lookbook, which was released this week, and gives a good taster of what's to come. 'Spiky' is the watchword here, with some alluring textures and colours.
The cracked gold multistrap pumps are likely to be an instant hit, offering a cheaper alternative to Carvela's already cultish 'Acdc' style. They'll be in stores soon, priced at £50. The thigh-length boots, available in plum or black leather, will also cost £50 - an excellent price for a key trend that not all will dare to embrace. Finally, the piped boots are a versatile day-to-night style with just a touch of ladylike quilting - also priced at £50.
