Vegan shoes from Olsenhaus are to... die... for!

olsenhaus_veganshoerange.jpg

Over at our eco-chic website Hippyshopper, vegan footwear is often discussed. I am delighted to see that cruelty-free shoes are becoming more stylish, not to mention socially followed. These gorgeous vegan styles from Olsenhaus are quite the masterpieces. Splatted with paint, they offer something different, as well as being environmentally-friendly. Sergio Rossi collaborates with Puma

sergio_pumateamup.jpgAnother sportswear/designer collaboration has hit the mainstream with Sergio Rossi teaming up with Puma on a capsule footwear collection.

Puma's legendary 'Clyde' sneaker has been updated with a modern, and dare I say it, unusual twist. Harking back to those girl group days, the collaboration has produced a range of sneaker-heels, with two versions to choose from.

Keep your eyes peeled as they hit Sergio Rossi and Puma stores over the coming months, as well as at Colette where they will be exclusively stocked.

Hetty Rose launches S/S 09 collection

hetty_rose.jpgHetty Rose is known for the beautiful vintage Japanese fabrics she uses to adorn her hand-made shoes, and the theme continues in her Spring/Summer '09 collection, which was unveiled today. But there's a distinct move away from the ultra-feminine high heels that dominated earlier collections, towards chunkier styles with heavier buckles and straps. There are also, for the first time, an assortment of flat and lower-heeled shoes. A bespoke pair of Hetty Rose shoes starts from £290.

Fab, eco-friendly footwear by newcomer Nina Dolcetti

NINA-DOLCETTI.jpgAs a lover of all things green, I think there are still relatively few truly stylish. eco-friendly labels making shoes at the moment (while there is still a staid, 'veggie shoes' image that WILL NOT DIE), so I was thrilled to hear that a new ethical footwear label has come on to the scene after a storming debut at London Fashion Week.

Nina Dolcetti is a young designer who makes fabulously fashionable footwear, entirely out of reclaimed materials. She's the daughter of the founder of From Somewhere, the hip West London recycled fashion store, so turning rubbish into something quite beautiful is clearly in her genes. I love everything I've seen in the range so far, and will be keeping my eyes peeled for more...

My favourite shoes this week: Cybèle's birdy heels

cybele_shoes.jpg
Specially-made birdy-influenced shoes took pride of place on the feet of Cybèle's models at New Zealand Fashion Week last week - and I am absolutely in love!

Check out a close-up of these beauties here.

Faith's cross front heeled sandals

faithcrossfrontheeledsandals.jpgBeing quite a tall lass myself, the thought a stiletto heel tends tends to make me both jealous and fearful at the same time. While there is no doubting the appeal of a stiletto to add the final necessary touches to an evening ensemble, often the practise of wearing them means you end up crippled for days after.

But for these gems, I think I could make an exception. Simplicity is the key here, but it is the cross strap that really make it. With ankle boots and peep-toe booties dominating the scene right now, the focus is certainly being levelled at the ankle. And these gold cross front heeled sandals from Faith seem to abide by that same ideal. They are £55 from Asos.com, and come in black, but if you ask me it's all about the gold.

Topshop's SKIATHOS cuff platform boots

topshop_skiathoscuffplatformboots.jpgWatch your backs, for here are some really lethal shoes! These hardcore beauties are compliments of Topshop, and if you're looking for a way to toughen up your wardrobe, then these are surely a good place to start.

Take for instance, the mix of suede, patent, and metallic leather. Add one very mean cuff and a platform heel, with a raised gold section and you'll be frightening the kiddies away on the Tube. Throw on a pair of PVC leggings, a studded belt and you have this season's tough trend down pat. The SKIATHOS cuff platform boots are £70, available now.
