Matalan's patent peep toe platforms

patent-peepplatforms.jpgWould you have guessed these shoes came from Matalan if the name hadn't been in the title? I don't think I would have. I'm not saying they'd be easily mistaken for some high-end designer, of course, but I don't think they look like £14 worth either - although I guess it may be a different story altogether if I was to see them in the "flesh". Going by the image alone, though, I really like the simplicity of these, and think they look stylish and versatile for me to be making a mental note to try and check them out in person at some point.

Roxanne studded peep toes from Topshop

topshop-roxanne.jpg

Oh great: I'm going to have Police's 'Roxanne' stuck in my head for the rest now, thanks to the name of these shoes, aren't I? Hopefully it'll all be worth it. I have to admit, I've been really liking studs recently (on shoes, on bags, on dresses - whatever) and so while these Topshop slingbacks aren't my usual style, something about them really appeals to me, in the black at least. Go the whole hog with leather-look leggings (Sass & Bide's Black Rats or American Apparel's Eels will do the trick) and a longer top to avoid any camel toe issues, and you'll have a simple but modern look.

Marc Jacobs patent peep toe star pumps

mj-star-peep-toes.jpg

Looks like the Shoewawa staff have gone a little Marc Jacobs crazy today! I mentioned these shoes in passing last week, when I was showing you the closed-toe versions, but since then I've seen them on a few different websites, and I thought they deserved a post all of they're own. Even although I've never really bought into the whole "star" craze that's gone on this year, I have to admit that these are stunning shoes, and the little diamante star is the perfect finishing touch to them. The uppers are described as "pearl", and are a lovely, soft metallic shade. I think they'd be better without the metal on the heel, but I'd live with that too if I had to. These are $530 and you'll find them at Neiman Marcus.

Carvela "Annabell" platform slingback peep toe shoes

Carvela-platform-slingback-.jpgIt's hard to go wrong with a pair of red peep toes (although I'm sure someone, somewhere has managed it...) and the fact that these ones by Carvella also have a cute little bow on the front - well, that just seals the deal, doesn't it? Red shoes are the failsafe way to help make you look like you've made a bit of an effort, even if you're just wearing jeans and a tank top with them, and these ones will also look good with party dresses. They're £90 and available from Additions Direct.

Marni's multi-coloured platform peep toes with bows

marbi_platfoms.jpg

There seems to be some kind of "who can create the most dramatic pair of platforms" competition going on in the world of shoes at the moment and, well, I reckon Marni should be in with a good shot at the prize for this effort, don't you?

These multi-coloured platforms will (probably) be the most talked-about shoes in any room you wear them in, and they'll definitely be one of the chunkiest. That chunkiness is what will put some people off wearing them, but if you think you can pull it off, I think you'd be as well to work that 60s vibe they're giving off with a short shift dress. In for a penny....

Speaking of pennies, you'll need quite a lot of them. These are £390 and you can find them at Browns.

Miu Miu's sequined 'Perla' peep toe pumps

miu-miu-sequins.jpgAre you sick of sequins yet? No? Well, that's a good thing, because we're not even done with November yet, and already we've seen more pairs of sequined shoes than you could shake a stick at, although why you would want to is beyond me.

These ones are by Miu Miu, who are back to doing what they do best, producing glitzy, show-stoppers of shoes, often with lots of sequins plastered all over them. The sequins on these shoes are multicoloured and have something of a "slapdash" look to them, which isn't a word I'd normally use to describe $950 shoes.

Jessica Simpson's 'Angeline' platforms

jessica-sim-platforms.jpg

Hmmm. I'm thinking maybe these should have been our Yay or Nay shoes this week, but it's too late for that now, so moving along...

Now, I've been a not-so-secret admirer of Jessica Simpson's shoe line for some time now, but I don't think I can have her back on these 'Angeline' pumps, which combine a standard peep toe with what appears to be half a tree trunk. With ridges. I think these would've worked for me if it wasn't for that cut-out sole, which just doesn't seem to belong on the shoe, and which will be lots of fun to clean should you walk over some muddy ground in these by mistake.

Still, I'm sure someone out there will love them, and if that someone is you, you can buy them from Zappos, where they're $98.
