Just when it seems like the winter will never end, the mid-season sale season kicks in, to brighten up our lives. Kurt Geiger are one of the first in the shoe world to start their sale: here are some of our favourite picks, all of which are reduced in price now!

Pewter is one of the best metallics, it's less brash than its gold or silver cousins and goes really well with coral and grey, this summer's hot colours. Shelly's pewter lace-ups are reduced to a mere £15 and the brogue detailing makes them quite fancy for a flat. I'm loving flat lace-ups at the moment, they're just great for toning down romantic floaty dresses for a casual summer look.

Yes, it's still winter. On the plus side, though, all those boots that are currently on sale are still very wearable, so you can pick up a bargain without having to wait until next winter to wear it. I love these "Scrunch" ankle boots by All Saints, which have been reduced to £57, and which will look great with tights or jeans. They're only available now in UK sizes 3 and 5, though, so if that's your size, you're in luck, and if not - well, there's always next year...

Snapping up a designer bargain usually leaves me with a very blissful glow for a few days, especially if the designer brand is one which I have been coveting and the price was at least 50% off the retail price. Which is why I'm loving these Balenciaga navy sandals. They've been marked down to just £118 from £385, and are just a fabulously timeless party shoe. Made from suede, it features silver chain detail on the strap across the toe with a a thin ankle strap. They've still got a few sizes left (IT 36.5, 38, 38, 39, and 40), so get in quick if they're your size.

It might seem far away now but these cute summer sandals are reduced to a mere £3 at Shelly's. The oversized eyelets have a nautical feel to them and will look great worn with a pair of of turned-up jeans for a day at the beach or for giving a casual touch to a floaty summer dress. If you can't think that far ahead then remember how cheap they are!

The Faith sale is still going on, and, slightly less luckily, winter is still going on too, which makes these bronze 'Riddle' boots an even better buy than they may at first appear. Although the idea of metallic boots may sound a little too brash for some tastes, these are subtle enough to work for daytime or evening, and the soft bronze sheen add a bit of glamour, while helping to emphasise the ruched design on the ankle. These are down to £55 in the sale, and are also available in black.
