I've been having major retail therapy withdrawals of late, I've been trying to do some Christmas shopping and not buy anything for me, but resisting has been hard. The other day I discovered these cute but affordable Lulu red stripe ballet flats. Marked down from $99 to $39 and the red stripes on the yellow cord pattern surprisingly appealing, but what gives the shoe its endearing detail is the red velvet straps that can be wrapped around the ankle. Not a bad buy, plus if I can pick out a pair of shoes for my sister, then I'm still doing Christmas shopping... ;)

So we all know that ankle boots are the shizzle right now, right? It's old news. So what is so special about this pair from ASOS?
Well, for starters they're currently on sale. You're interested already aren't you? But besides that, I really like the colour, a patent leather in a dark grey called 'atom'. I also like the split in the front, and the muted stud detailing, which would look fab with a pair of rocker-style jeans.

The first I thought when I saw these Pedro Garcia 'Kirsten' heels, apart from 'oh goody they're on sale', was - 'aren't they just the spitting image of Miu Miu's pearlized paillette pumps?' Of course, the Miu Miu pumps are made from sequins and not silver metallic python, but you get where I'm coming from, right?

I'm a bit of a sucker for that snakeskin look, and this silver pair could easily see through me many glitzy occasions.
