In addition to his recent startling admission that he once signed a fan's leg, and she had it permanently tattooed, Manolo Blahnik has another confession to make...
He recently told Amy Sedaris of Bergdorf Goodman magazine that he never actually watched Sex and the City. And he only recently saw the film in a hotel room. I'm sure this revelation is enough to send Carrie recoiling in her Manolos, particularly after all the publicity the TV series generated for the designer. Still, I can't help but feel a bit endeared by his declaration. [via NYP]

Here is the shoe that will soon make many a girl swoon when they see Baz Luhrmann's epic love story, Australia. Starring Nicole Kidman and the hunky Hugh Jackman, the blockbuster is all set to debut here in the U.K. on December 27.
But if you simply cannot wait that long, then you grab a piece of the film's 1930s-inspired wardrobe with the release of these limited edition Salvatore Ferragamo red velvet heels. The 'Lady Sarah' shoes, named after Kidman's character, along with the Prada luggage featured in the movie, have become a talking-point amongst the fash pack. The peep-toe platforms have been recreated by the label to resemble a pair designed by the great 'shoemaker to the stars' Salvatore Ferragamo. And now, they could be yours for £499. Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester (a.k.a. Blair Waldorf) has joined the campaign for Reebok. I know. It's not quite what I expected either, but nonetheless Reebok have been known to embrace the pulling-power of a few it-girls, Agyness Deyn and Scarlett Johansson for example. Leighton was spotted shooting the campaign on the streets of New York earlier this week (pictured above) much to the dismay of GG lovers who argue that no one on the hit teen show even wears trainers. They have a point. [via Fashionista]

It's good news for our American readers with luxury companies such as Christian Louboutin, Chanel and Versace reportedly slashing prices on goods from 8 to 10 per cent.
The US dollar has increased in value against the euro by 28 per cent since April, allowing the cut in prices. It is hoped that the move will encourage shoppers to spend again. However, the catch seems to be that reducing the prices of a pair of designer shoes might simultaneously run the risk of devaluing the label.

Now this is one strange story...
Manolo Blahnik left his mark permanently behind on one shoe fan after he was asked to sign her leg. The famed shoe designer told Amy Sedaris in the latest issue of Bergdorf Goodman magazine that the "pretty Southern woman" asked him to sign her leg before she raced to the nearest tattoo parlour to have it permanently tattooed.

Antonio Berardi has given a little more insight into the effect Victoria Beckham had on those heel-less latex boots that she wore to the launch of her fragrance at Macy's in September (pictured, left).
"Victoria was promoting her new perfume and wanted something different to wear, she chose a great dress and knee-high latex no-heel boots (which I designed just for the hell of it) from the A/W '08 collection," he revealed to Grazia. "You would not believe the effect. Everyone wanted it. She's a designer's dream because she sells clothes!"

I can't say that I am at all upset by this news, quite the opposite actually. But nevertheless, Crocs have posted a deep loss this week, as sales of the ugly colourful plastic shoe plummeted.
News sources report that the hit sent shares plunging down by 37 per cent in trade. Suggested solutions have so far included closing down its Brazilian manufacturing plant, and slashing next year's capital expenditure by 50 per cent. Ouch! While I don't like to see anyone out of a job let's be frank, the fewer Crocs on the planet the better for all.
