FIRST LOOK: Sea of Shoes blogger Jane unveils shoe collaboration with Urban Outfitters

jaldridge_for_urban_outfitters_shoes.jpg

She's been featured in every glossy magazine from here to Japan, Kanye gave her props on his blog for her awesome sense of style and now 17-year-old Sea of Shoes' Jane Aldridge has been given the ultimate honour - a shoe designing collaboration with a major retailer.

The J.Aldridge by Sea of Shoes for Urban Outfitters capsule collection was unveiled on her blog last night and is causing quite a stir already in the fashion world (Susie Bubble, for one, is pretty excited!) Drawing her inspiration from what she calls "sort of Victoriana meets gladiator warrior," the (for now) three-piece set of designs will be available at Urban Outfitters from next month - although, still not sure if that will include UK branches. Will keep you updated! In the meantime, since we're now doing blogger shoe collections - can I have one pretty please? *wink*

Find the perfect footwear on Empora.com

empora_shoewawa.jpg

If you are a regular reader of Shoewawa and our fashion-y sister sites The Bag Lady and Catwalk Queen, I'm sure you've gathered by now that we're all fairly seasoned when it comes to shopping - some might even say experts! *ahem* (Well, it is in our job description after all...)

Whether you're a hardened pro or a shopper still-in-training, we all equally love when shopping is made easier for us. Which is why we wanted to let you know about our new discovery - Empora. This site uses some pretty sweet technology to scan product images for colours and shapes, helping you uncover exactly what you are looking for without the hassle of scouring through endless pages and store websites. For example, if you are looking for the perfect pair of red heels, then simply select 'heels' and 'red' and just wait for the site to bring up tonnes of shoes Dorothy would be proud of. You can even refine your search further by price or retailer.

Another thing it's great for is finding shoes in a similar style to a pair you really like (or have perhaps seen on the feet of a celeb) - Empora makes it easy to find that designer-lookalike high street bargain. Just a warning though: it's pretty darned addictive! Check it out here.

Psst: Jimmy Choo for H&M confirmed! Have a sneaky peek here...

choo_for_h&m.jpg

We've had Roberto Cavalli, we've had Matthew Williamson, heck, we've even had Madonna. And now we have one we're really, really excited about: Jimmy Choo for H&M - wahoo! The luxury shoe and bag brand have signed on to release a collection of not only desirable accessories, but a range of clothes too.

Since Carrie Bradshaw planted them on her feet in Sex and the City, women everywhere have dreamed of owning their very own pair of Choos, and it looks like we'll only have to wait until November 14 before that dream can become a reality.

It seems Jimmy Choo president Tamara Mellon knows exactly what we're all after, saying today: "Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection - the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!"

We've marked it on our calendar already...

Coming up roses: floral footwear for summer

roses-shoes.jpgRoses are definitely this season's flower of choice, and are blooming all over bags, dresses and shoes, too. My favourites are the monochrome designs with juicy, plump flowers made from plastic or perspex; perfect for giving an outfit a touch of modish class. Karen Millen (top right) have the look spot on, with a slimlined shoe shape that contrast beautifully with the giant bloom. At £135 it isn't the cheapest of the selection, but it's certainly the most striking.

Moda in Pelle's sequinned rose-detail 'Jazz' shoe is another definite winner, and will go on sale at £80 later in the season as part of the label's A/W 90/10 range. Bertie's nude courts are beautifully sculpted, and on sale at a reduced price of £55. A more casual, summery take on the look is provided by Schuh, whose 'Blossom Rose' sandals are £20.

Date for your diary: Irregular Choice party, 16 June

IrregularSoles7.jpgLove 'em or hate 'em, Irregular Choice is a label that certainly knows how to have fun with its quirky designs and playful fashion experiments. No surprise then that they're putting on an event next week that looks well worth catching.

I've reproduced the invite here, but the important bits are (a) it takes place next Tuesday, (b) the well-dressed will be rewarded and (c) sweet treats have been promised to keep you on a sugar high! So grab a friend, pull on your craziest clothes and show up early to grab the best goodies. You know the drill!

Liberty opens online shoe boutique, we say yippee!

liberty_online_boutique.jpg

Mention Liberty around these offices and you will get pretty much the same reaction from everyone (in case you were wondering what that consisted of, it's an immediate snap to attention followed by the eyes glazing over). Mention shoes in the same sentence, and you've got yourself one distracted co-worker. So I'm actually a tiny bit afraid to tell them about Liberty's new online shoe boutique, which stocks designers such as Chloe, Kurt Geiger, D&G, Nicole Farhi, UGG and Marni - they may not get any work done today! I don't mind telling you lot though, so make sure you check out the entire selection here.

SHOEWAWA PREVIEW: Onitsuka Tiger A/W 09

onitsuka_tiger_aw09.jpg

Just got back from the Onitsuka Tiger A/W 09 press day preview and, as always with this brand, there is a lot to be excited about. They've continued with the super cool Zodiac theme from Spring/Summer (you know, animals of the zodiac and the five earth elements) and have enlisted street artist Victor Ash along with now seemingly regular Onitsuka collaborator, Japanese designer Takeshi Fukui, to create some shoes with a real wow-factor. There were also some bright and bold colour combinations from the mainline range which were lots of fun and, of course, all the tried-and-true favourites like the famous Kill Bill shoes.

Stay tuned to Shoewawa and we'll feature some of the great designs from the collection as they become available to purchase.
