Okay, so while I'm madly on the hunt for a new pair of gladiator sandals to get my feet in the mood to really kick off summer, I'm well aware that many of you will be sick of the sight of them and will be wanting some other chic alternatives.
These brown toe post sandals really caught my eye because they deliver just that - they're not gladiators, but they still look fashionable and, most importantly, pretty darn good. The jewel detailing means they will sparkle and glitter in the sun, but the neutral tan colour means they're not overtly blingin'. Just perfect. They're a very reasonable £25 from Evans.

Glastonbury is approaching at a very rapid rate and although I am not making it out there this year (it's Benicàssim this year for me, yay), I know plenty of you are. Thus, you will most likely be looking to stock up on wellies and ponchos along with your trilbys and your sunglasses...
This year the people at Hunter (renowned for being *the* gumboot of choice by celebs and festival veterans alike) have teamed up with international charity WaterAid to raise money for a great cause. A percentage of the profits made from the sale of each pair of their special water drop wellies (£75) will go towards clean water, sanitation and hygiene education for communities in Madagascar.
You will not only have some cool-as waterproof footwear to wear to Glasto, but you'll also be doing something good for peeps who aren't quite as lucky as us. Warm fuzzies all round!

You really need to look closely at these Giuseppe Zanotti stitched leather ankle boots to truly appreciate the workmanship and beauty of them. Since we can't hold them in our hands and caress them lovingly (uh, I don't do that to shoes, I promise!) then you'll have to make do with the zoom function over at Net-a-Porter, but that does the job pretty well anyway.
On one hand it seems a bit crazy to be thinking about boots when we have summer arriving on our doorstep, but on the other hand... well, look outside. We're bound to have a few more rainy days throughout the next few months, so a gorgeous pair of ankle boots aren't the most ridiculous June spend after all. They are £540 from Net-a-Porter.

All you fellow Londoners out there dealing with the tube strike, I commiserate. I also wish to impart some (yes, rather obvious) wisdom to all those who are making their way to and from work today and tomorrow and that is: wear some comfy and rainproof walking shoes! Don't do as I did this morning and wear your silly old ballet flats, as when you have to walk across London in the rain, you'll find this isn't the best idea going...
I'm wishing I had of thought of this earlier and arranged to have had these cute Cath Kidston plimsoles on my feet instead. They look like they could withstand a bit of walking and even though they're no waterproof wellies, they'd probably do better to keep the rain out than my pumps. Very cute, too! They're £16 from Cath Kidston.

There's something very Marni-esque about these patent strap platforms by Carvela - and of course, when I say that, I mean for that to be a Very Good Thing (you only have to look at Camille's Marni wedges on Childhood Flames to see what I'm talking about).
Supremely versatile for the warmer months, you'll be able to wear them with everything from slouchy sweats a la Camille, to your dressier moments in a summer frock and everything in between (namely jeans). They're also a darn sight cheaper than a Marni version - especially right now, as they're on sale for £66 at ASOS!

We told you we'd let you know as soon as My-Wardrobe re-stocked the very popular Melissa and Vivienne Westwood Lady Dragon heels - so we are very happy to be able to tell you the day has arrived! The heart heels come in a variety of colours, all priced at £88, and there are also bow Lady Dragons to be had, too. You can see the full range here.

Heading into summer, you will not believe how challenging it is to find a pair of summery shoes which are airy and pretty but which also have some kind of height booster (aka 'a heel') but aren't too high, are comfy enough to do all the usual activities you'd do in your flat sandals and which don't give you ruddy big blisters from the hot feet + leather strap equation.
You'd think that with my job being to look at shoes all day, it would make this task a little easier, but guess what? It just makes me frustrated at how few shoes there are which fit this description! Lucky then, that I came across these Tsumori Chisato espadrilles today, just when I was about to give up all hope... They're pretty and bright, they look uber comfortable and they're only £89 from Farfetch.
