Prada anthracite metallic leather ruffled detail ankle boots

prada-ankleboots.jpgI haven't loved everything Prada have done recently, but I do love these boots, and I think they make up for some of the stranger designs we've been seeing from the brand in the past year or so. The basic shape is one you really can't go wrong with - well, everyone can use a pair of black stiletto ankle boots, can't they? - but the ruffle detail adds a really nice little touch. It's pretty and unusual, but it's not too over-the-top, so you'll still be able to wear these everywhere you'd wear a plain pair of boots, but with the knowledge that they're far prettier!

These are $712 at Bluefly, and have gone right onto my wish list!

Coach 'Christina' ballet flat

Coach-Christina.jpg When the weather is dreary outside, there is nothing better than a pop of colour in your wardrobe to cheer you up. These Coach 'Christina' ballet flats are sure to brighten up anyone's day thanks to their bright fuchsia colour and metallic leather lining. The gold trim matches perfectly with the gold faux twist-lock detail across the vamp of the foot, giving it a bit of bling.

Marc by Marc Jacobs star pumps

star-pumps.jpgOh, that star print, it just won't die, will it? Marc Jacobs actually has two versions of this shoe - this one plus the 'star bling pump', which, as you can imagine, has a little more, well, "bling", in the shape of metallic leather and a bit of rhinestone.

This shoe, meanwhile, is possibly attention-getting enough for many of you, what with the raised stars on the toe, plus another huge star on the heel, which you'll need to visit the eLuxury website to see. They're definitely not your standard dull court shoes, anyway, and they're $495.

Shoe labels cut their prices in the U.S.

designer_shoppingbags.jpgIt's good news for our American readers with luxury companies such as Christian Louboutin, Chanel and Versace reportedly slashing prices on goods from 8 to 10 per cent.

The US dollar has increased in value against the euro by 28 per cent since April, allowing the cut in prices. It is hoped that the move will encourage shoppers to spend again. However, the catch seems to be that reducing the prices of a pair of designer shoes might simultaneously run the risk of devaluing the label.

Dior's 'Maya' straw heel pumps

maya-pumps.jpgThe season of the 'interesting' heel continues, with these 'Maya' pumps by Dior the latest shoes to take an ordinary stiletto heel and turn it into something... else.

These are far from the most extreme examples we've seen of this trend, but the heel isn't the only talking point here: they also have a lovely turquoise embellishment on the toe, and come in blue leather with cream stitching. They're certainly that little bit different, and they say "summer" to me, although they could work equally well at any time of year, really. They're $1,120 at Neiman Marcus.

Kate Spade 'Genna' sandals

katespade-genna.jpg It's not quite time for everyone in the Northern Hemisphere to start thinking of spring shoes, but when a pretty pair come along like these Kate Spade 'Genna' sandals, it's time to consider your options for spring 2009. A simple but chic slingback sandal, I love the two tone coloured straps across the vamp of the foot - it's not too detailed or messy so that the overall look is still elegant. I think it's a pretty good buy at $328 - when you figure out the cost per wear, after all these shoes would look great with jeans, cropped pants, shorts, dresses and... pretty much everything else.
