Martin Margiela's split toe boots have become something of a trademark for the label. Personally I've never been able to see the appeal of these - in fact, they're the very antithesis of everything I love about shoes, but they've been spotted on the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker amongst others, so clearly there are people out there who like them. These stiletto ankle boots are the latest version of the style, and if you're amongst those who'd wear these - and pay $945 for the privilege - you can buy them at Saks Fifth Avenue. All I can say is, "rather you than me...."

Wow, are these some shoes or are these some shoes?! Bruno Frisoni has certainly pulled out all the stops for Autumn 2009, and the shoes on the left in particular are show stoppers of the highest order. Bows, frills and studs are three of the biggest trends we'll keep on seeing in footwear next season and the pairs above just show exactly what kind of extreme measures shoe designers might take with these.

These aren't quite as fabulous as the famous 'Tribute' sandals, but I'm willing to bet we'll be seeing them on the feet of at least a couple of celebrities before this year is out. They have all the right ingredients for this year: the platform, the high heel, the bow. While that heel looks almost too high to walk on, however, it's actually "only" $2, and the platform sole will make it feel more like three, so they may be more comfortable than they look, too.

We recently had a look at the new Christian Siriano for Payless range as they stormed the runway at New York Fashion Week. Well it looks like Mena Suvari is the first celebrity to try out the Fall '09 collection, while at an event in New York. The actress also stopped to greet Siriano and be papped in a pair of his chain draped peep-toe platforms. I love that she's showing off her budget side, but couldn't she have done something better with her hair? Farrah Fawcett flicks gone wrong. [via Nitrolicious]

I still haven't been completely won-over by the pointy-toes that are suddenly back in fashion, but if I was going go buy some shoes in this style, these 'Nadiah' courts from Steve Madden would probably appear somewhere near the top of the list. Quite apart from the red uppers (can you tell I'm going through a bit of a "red" phase?), I also like the knotted design on the front of these, which is interesting without being overwhelming. These are $79.95, and are also available in black.

There have been lots of versions of this style of shoe available over the past few months, but I think Forever 21's floral peep toes have to be the least expensive of all! These are only $20.80, and are also available in a bridal-looking cream. The black versions manage not to look too over the top, but will still look very "dressed up" for an evening out.

Never having been a huge fan of Pucci print (I don't hate it, I've just never had the desire to own any of it), I was a little surprised to find myself liking these peep toes so much. In a soft coral pattern which is very summery and not too "in your face", the shape of these is very "now", and brings the famous print up to date. These would be great with skinny jeans, but will also help freshen-up dresses and skirts. They're $605 from Piperlime.
