Hot or Not? Steve Madden's ruffle heels

It's pretty much general knowledge around Shiny Towers that Kiss and Makeup's Zara is a huge fan of Steve Madden shoes. Both she and fashion ed Gemma have even been known to come back from the States with suitcases full of the shoes after going on a massive shopping binge!

If you look beyond some of the *ahem* questionable copycat designs that crop up from time to time, there are many desirable pairs of shoes to own at cheap and cheerful prices.

That said, are we all in agreeance on the desirability of this particular pair of ruffle heels? Zara and I both think they're hot - but how about you? Vote in our poll beneath the jump...

Nanette Lepore's P.S. I Love You pumps

ps-i-love-you.jpgAnother simple court shoe, but Nanette Lepore has managed to make these 'P.S. I Love You' pumps look anything but simple. The curved sides, the contrast trim, the bronze uppers and, of course, the little bow, all contribute to a shoe that will take you almost anywhere, and still look special, regardless of what you choose to wear with them.

If you like these, you're in luck, too, because they've just been reduced to $245 in the Saks sale, which is a saving of over $100 on the original price. Get them here.

Dolce & Gabbana's patent round toe pumps

0468609934834_275x275.jpgWe feature a lot of quirky and unusual shoes here at Shoewawa, but sometimes you just need something that's simple, chic and absolutely beautiful, and I think Dolce & Gabbana have got that nailed with these black patent pumps. This is the classic "wear anywhere" shoe, but somehow they've managed to make it look that little bit nicer than most black pumps, not just because of the contrast trim, but because it looks like a quality shoe, even although it's hard to say why, exactly.

It's a good job it does, too: it's the only way most of us would be able to justify the $575 price!

Pink patent platform pumps by Christian Louboutin

pink-louboutin-platforms.jpgPink, patent, platform pumps. Your challenge for this afternoon is to say that ten times in a row, as fast as you can. And when you're done you can come back and feast your eyes on a shoe that really should be too "Christian Louboutin Barbie" for words, but which actually looks really covetable to me right now for some reason.

Such is the wonder of a Christian Louboutin shoe, I guess. I like the simple, point-toed platform style of these enough that I'd probably like them in most colours, but there's no doubt that this bright pink is going to be a surefire attention-getter. If that sounds good to you, they're $695 and available for pre-order at Saks.

Brian Atwood's green suede sandals

green-suede-sandals.jpgWe're always being told to avoid shoes with ankle-straps, lest they create the dreaded "cankles", but that's not always the case, and if you're lucky enough to have slender ankles anyway, I think a chunky strap, like the one on these green suede sandals by Brian Atwood, can actually help to emphasise them, making them look even more delicate.

That's not the only reason to love these shoes, of course: I'm also keen on the brilliant green suede, which is eye-catching, ever-so-slightly festive, but still fresh enough to take you through to Spring. These are $710 from Saks.

L.A.M.B suede insert zip back heels

lamb_zipsandal.jpg

I don't know for certain why, but I'm a bit biased when it comes to shoes and bags designed by L.A.M.B (possibly because I think Gwen Stefani is a genius, but who knows? *wink*) Because of this, I always want to like the designs before I've even looked at them properly, but luckily for these suede insert zip heels, they still tick the boxes even after careful scrutiny.

The grey suede and snakeskin make for a perfect colour and texture for autumn/winter - you can pair these with everything from bodycon dresses, to skinny jeans and frilled cocktail dresses worn with leather jackets. Worn with opaques or without, these are a supremely versatile shoe and at a not-so-cheap £219, you'll be rather pleased they are. From ASOS.

Black patent pom pom peep toes by MIA

MIA-pom-poms.jpgI often find it hard to make up my mind about shoes with pom poms on them, because they can look just a little bit (and, OK, sometimes a big bit) clownish. I had no such dilemma with these ones by MIA, though: the pom pom here is small enough that it doesn't become the whole focus of the shoe, but large enough to provide an interest, while the black patent uppers and slender high heels help to keep it classy. These are a good price, too, at just $69.95, and could be a good choice if you're looking for an evening shoe that's a little different but still has lots of versatility.
