Shoe label, Omelle, launches e-commerce site

omelle_ecommercesite.jpgTwo shoe labels, known as Omelle, have entered cyberspace by launching its first e-commerce website. This seems a nifty move since there are only two stores in New York that carry these shoes.

And there are some gorgeous styles to be found. Take for instance these cut-out, stacked heel, 'Cole' knee-high boots, $1,095.

Not only is the style very unique, the rich colour is good enough to eat. The website also offers 360 degree views of each shoe so you can get a good look from all angles. Visit: www.omelle.com

Juicy Couture's 'Adore' butterfly flats

juicy-butterfly-flats.jpgIt's been a long time since I came across a pair of flats I really liked, and trust me, no one was more surprised than me when the pair I finally found turned out to be by Juicy Couture. These 'Adore' flats come with a cute little butterfly embellishment on the front, which makes a nice change from the usual bows/jewels, and I also like the pale gold leather. What I don't like is the price - $244 from Zappos.

Valentino's jewelled bow d'orsay pumps

valentino-gem-bow.jpgWow. I know the old "bow on the toe" is very much Valentino's signature look, but it's hard to ever get bored of it when the results are as pretty as these jewelled bow pumps. By the simple measure of making the uppers gold and covering the bow in jewels, they've managed to make these look like ornaments rather than actual shoes that you'd wear (I think I'd probably be too scared to wear them in case I damaged their perfection!), and given the $995 price tag, you may well be tempted to put them out on show in between wears!

Pollini's Mary Jane platform sandals

polli2002210192_prod_medium.jpgRarely has a Mary Jane looked so appealing to me as these pretty little slingbacks by Pollini. To be fair, these are as un-typical of the Mary Jane shoe as it's possible to be, but I love the curve of the sides, the cute little miniature t-bar and the high heel, which makes them a lot more grown-up than most MJs. They're on the expensive side, at $585, but if you think they're worth it, you can pick up a pair at Shopbop.

Ugly Shoe of the Week: Christian Louboutin's 'Deva' boots

deva-booties.jpgMr Louboutin, this is going to hurt me as much as it'll hurt you, but I'm afraid I just can't overlook these 'Deva' boots of yours. In fact, I'm going to have to make them our Ugly Shoe of the Week. Sorry. But the peep toe, the open heel (who needs to expose their heels when wearing boots?), and, most of all, that weird, sticky-out fringe thing on the front? They're not looking good.

Of course, readers, you may well disagree, and if you do, you can buy these for $1,095 at Saks.

See by Chloe lace-up platform sneakers

chloe-sneakers.jpgUh-oh. It's a platform sneaker, folks. The addition of platform soles to sneakers is something I can never quite accept, although, having said that, these are some of the least offensive examples of the genre I've seen. It may have something to do with that sunny yellow colour, or the fact that I do appreciate the thought of adding heels to casual shoes, even although I don't often appreciate the end result. I definitely wouldn't pay $265 for them, either. If you would, they're See by Chloe, and you can get them at Saks.

Kate Spade's 'Lorna' t-strap wedges

kate-spade-nautical.jpgI hate to use the word "nautical" again, because it seems to be the default way to desribe anything that contains red and blue and/or stripes, but it was the word that jumped into my mind when I spotted these Kate Spade wedges at Saks. They're $295, and the kind of thing that would look good with shorts, or anything containing the aforementioned red or navy. I like the stripes on the heel, which add something different to these summery wedges. Something, dare I say it, nautical...
