At first glance, I though these Oscar de la Renta slip-ons were a pair of very pretty slippers, but of course, they're not: they're shoes, and they could be the perfect compromise if you're looking for something flat but glam. The floral embellishment on the toe is much more intricate than the above picture suggests, and is sure to attract comments, and while these would be great as evening wear, they'd look equally good worn casually with jeans or cropped trousers. Or you could just wear them around the house! They're $625 from Saks.

The Spring collections may be starting to slowly trickle into the stores (yes, already!) but for many of us, it's still far too cold to be thinking about anything other than hats, coats, and, of course, boots.
For those bored with the standard black and browns, these 'Ribbons and Bows" knee high boots from Modcloth come in a lovely dark green. They're much less "frilly" than the name suggests, and although there's a large bow on the side, they're still simple enough to be worn with jeans, or anything else you like! They're $59.99 from Modcloth.

We have long touted the leg-lengthening properties of the "nude" pump. The problem is, the color of beige we typically think of as nude only matches one skin tone.
It would be Christian Louboutin who provides the solution. Louboutin's Simple Pump 85 comes in, yes, a nude version which is a light beige, but also several other colors which will match a whole range of skin tones.
Ladies of any and all colors rejoice! There's a leg-lengthening, skin-tone matching pump out there for you. And by the shoe master himself.

These shoes may look more like something you'd put on display than something you'd actually wear on your feet, but I actually think they could be quite wearable. That chunky heel certainly looks wide enough to be comfortable, and the orange satin isn't so orange you'd need shades to look at it. They're real statement shoes, anyway, and the kind of footwear that'll make an excellent ice-breaker when you wear them to parties. They're by Anne Valerie Hash and they're not available online, so you'll need to find a boutique stocking them if you really want to buy them.

I thought I'd had my fill of party sandals in the weeks leading up to Christmas, but along come Casadei to prove to me that, no, my head can still be turned by a pretty flower-embellished sandal, especially one that has a bit of sparkle to it. These are expensive at $869.95, but the good news is that they look expensive, too: the uppers are black suede, with a rhinestone flower providing the focal point. Elegant stiletto heels and a delicate ankle strap complete the look, and have me wishing I hadn't made "stop buying pretty party shoes" one of my New Year's resolutions. Get them at Endless.com.

Wow. Now here's a bootie that's definitely not for the faint-hearted! These platform patent boots by Casadei are definitely show-stoppers, and I know some of you will think their designers have gone too far, what with the patent uppers, silver inserts, huge platform and equally huge stiletto heels. I might even have to agree with you there, although there's definitely something appealing about them too, and if you're looking for the highest heels you can find, well, how does 5.25" strike you?
Be really sure you can pull this look off if you're buying these, though - the price is almost as high as the heel, at $919.95.

Now that Christmas has been and gone, some of the shoe offerings on the web are starting to take on a distinctly Spring-like feel. That's definitely true of these 'Bang' platforms by Michael Kors, which use a cork wedge to great effect, by turning it gold! The effect is a summery shoe that will go easily from day into evening, and although these won't work with too many of my current winter outfits, they're one to watch for when the warmer weather finally arrives. They're $225 at Saks.
