No Christmas shoe countdown would be complete without a little something from Manolo Blahnik, and while the great man wasn't on our radar this year as much as he has been in other years, we still loved these nude satin sandals , which were one of many nude-coloured offerings to hit the shoe world this year. A jewelled buckle, a delicate heel and a feminine shape make these oh-so-Manolo, and oh-so-desirable at number 11.

We love a vintage-styled shoe 'round here, and Accessorize has been an absolute goldmine for shoes styled after the gorgeous '20s, '30s and '40s this year! Of all the styles, though, we agreed that these beautiful 'Lucy' courts were our favourite. Versatile, with their low heel and classic court shoe shape; the mix of suede and patent makes them extra special. A pair that will last you a lifetime, our Number 12 is currently reduced to £35 at Accessorize!

Just to make sure you have enough to read over the festive season, Shiny Media is spending December counting down our top 100 fashion and lifestyle blogs. Today it's the turn of Shoewawa, so here are a few of our very favourite shoe blogs!
1. Manolo's Shoe Blog
The Manolo, he loves the shoes. The Internet, it loves the Manolo – every one's happy! (Except the Croc lovers, of course, who're not so keen on the expensive shoes so beloved of the Manolo and his legions of fans.) One of the wittiest sites around, and read even by non-shoe-lovers for that very reason, Manolo continues to fight the good fight against ordinariness and ugliness, in shoes and in life.
The Manolo says:
"It is again Monday, and you woke up filled with indignation at the dreary, narrow-minded, Croc-wearing peoples who would ruin your extravagant shoe-based fun. Who are they to suggest that the purchase and enjoyment of $500 shoes is in any way immoral? Bah!"

Georgina Goodman is always a Shoewawa favourite, and looking at these beautiful gold heels, it's not hard to see why. The slightly quirky shape of these reminded Emma (one of our loyal readers!) of Irregular Choice, and I'd have to agree. The curvy heel, covered platform and raised tongue are what stop these being just another pair of gold court shoes, and turn them into something fabulous. They're still in stock at My-Wardrobe.com, where they'll cost you £268.

I'm afraid that this lovely pair of jewelled sandals from River Island have a bad reputation around these parts. Namely, for breaking the shoe-loving heart of our darling editor, Amber. Still lamenting not having purchased a pair when they hit the stores back in August, she's certain that they would have lasted her seasons to come with their gorgeous and versatile look. Making it to Number 14 on our Christmas list, they're certainly 2007's shoes that got away. Of course, if you happen across them in a UK4 in your travels, don't forget to drop Amber a line! I'm certain that she'd be forever in your debt!

If I have one regret about 2007, it's that I didn't buy Moda in Pelle's gorgeous cut out court shoes back in August, when I had the chance. I fell hard for the pretty, heart-shaped cut outs and metallic leather, and just wish I'd taken my own advice not to let brides have all the fun (the shoes were featured in a number of bridal magazines over the summer) and bought them for myself. Ah well, a lesson learned...

ASOS have really picked up the pace this year, particularly with their move to add designer lines to their enormous collection of goodies for our delectation. But you know what? We still love them best for their bargains! These teal Mary Janes are one of our favourite pairs this year, an homage to the multiple-strap trend that started with Chloe and later featured in collections from (among others) Miu Miu. Certainly a great take on the Mary Jane style that we love so much, they're still available online for £25! Hurrah!
