When we asked you what your favourite style of shoes was earlier this year, peep toes got a lot of thumbs up, and we think these 'Petalle' peep toes by Dune were amongst the best of the bunch. With a delicate high heel and equally delicate gauzy bow embellishment, they would have been perfect for a wedding or other posh occasion - and if they were still in stock right now, they'd be going right onto my Christmas list!

Christian Louboutin has dominated the Shoewawa map this year - not to mention the red carpet - and we felt that our Christmas list would be incomplete if we didn't mention one of his more controversial designs: the 'Emily' shoe boot. Spawning about a million 'inspired' copies, they were so popular a design, that they sold out before you could say "I'll take a pair in white". If you still fancy a piece of the action, we suspect that it's going to be a matter of beg, borrow or steal. Alternatively, hit the high street for a suitable homage!

Kate loved them. Sienna loved them. They were seen on the feet of all of the shoe-savviest celebs all year long, so when Terry De Havilland announced that their 'Margaux' metallic wedge sandals would be back in stock for the Spring/Summer 08 season, it was sighs of relief all round. The distinctive wedges were one of the iconic shoes of 200, but seem destined to keep going strong into next year, so how could we not include them in our Top 20 roundup?

While you've been decking the halls with boughs of holly, we've been scouring our archives looking for our favourite shoes from the past twelve months, for our Very Shoey Christmas Countdown! While some pairs are (sadly) no longer available, these are the pairs that have left us longing, or are featuring at the very top of our Christmas wishlist!
Starting us off at Number 20, is Dune's 'Woochie'. Now, we know that this pair debuted a little more than 12 months ago, but they're absolutely stunning; and, as they adorned my feet in my wedding back in July, we felt that they well and truly belonged in our list of favourite shoes from 2007. No longer available online, we suggest eBay if you've got a case of the gotta-have-'ems!
