After just three years, Converse by John Varvatos is shutting down its womenswear line, as of the 24th April.
The decision, however, will not affect its mens line. The brand said in a statement: "We have a strong relationship with John and are planning to continue both the Converse by John Varvatos footwear and men's apparel lines as part of our on-going commitment to the growth of Converse."

I I just can't stop staring at these Nike Liberty-print patchwork trainers. To me, they look like what would happen if you melted down a million Hollie Hobbie dolls and painted a Nike 'swoosh' on top of them - somehow without the car-crash result you'd expect. Instead, Nike have actually managed to achieve what I thought was the impossible: they've created a pretty pair of trainers.
The 'extremely limited edtiion' patchwork shoes are one of three styles designed especially for Nike by Liberty, following an earlier teamup that proved hugely successful. I love this style to bits, and can see them looking folksy and fab with a pair of mid-blue denim jeans and a crisp, pale spring top. Available from Liberty at £85 [Via Style Bubble]

It's no big secret that Leighton Meester is the new brand ambassador for Reebok - we told you the news months ago! Nevertheless, here is the first ad release for the new campaign for Reebok's 'Top Down' trainers. I quite like the retro style of the ads, with Leighton in a swishy skirt, Reeboks and standing next to an old school boombox. The Gossip Girl star launched the ads in New York over the weekend, with the campaign expected to break later this year. [via Just Jared]

At first glance I wouldn't consider these 'Ash' buckle boots peach in colour, more pink, but then internet pictures can often be deceiving.
Either way, they're probably unlike any trainers that you've got in your wardrobe. I particularly like the soft brush metallic fabric and multiple buckles. They tone the girlieness down a bit, and toughen up the style by also stopping at the ankle. At £110 from Topshop, they aren't cheap, but will probably last you forever.

Combining two of my favourite brands (one footwear and one magazine) are the Nike Nylon Dunk High trainers.
Based on Nike's classic Dunk High style, the footwear label have collaborated with the fashion-savvy folks at Nylon magazine in a solid colour scheme. Available in bright pink, lime green, and yellow, and are branded with the Nylon label. No doubt all the cool kids at New York Fashion Week will be wearing them.

You'll be a head-turner in these Nike multi-coloured Dunk High Premium edition trainers. Made of six different colours including rave pink, varsity red and grass green, the highlight has to be the metallic orange heel.
Okay, so this is not going to be for everyone but if you feel up to the challenge then check them out at the Nike store for US$108. Including a special Nike Zoom sole they are meant to be very comfortable.
