Casual Friday: Stuart Weitzman's 'Namegame' trainers

stuart-weitzman-sneakers.jpgA sneaker by any other name, these trainers from Stuart Weitzman are a far cry from his usual fare, although, in light of all the bling, not too far, I should say! With their silver-grey base and bright patent details, they're not really for sports; but you could certainly get some exercise playing the ol' name dropping game (the bright and shiny SW gives them away). A stylish shoe for a casual weekend, I suspect even fervent gym-avoiders might give these a go - 'Namegame' is $235 from Zappos.

Babycham Buckle High Top Rock from D R Shoes

dr%20shoes%20babycham%20boots.jpg

Now I'm not really one for trainers in general, eschewing them in favour of more delicious heights, but my feet have taken such a battering recently that I'm considering remaining 5'5 for a while longer. These shoes are really comfy looking, and I like the way they've used a gold rocker style print on a black background. The obscene amount of buckles adorning this shoe makes me smile as well, and I think they'd give my feet a great respite from heels. Well, till the weekend at least...

Babycham Trainers from D R Shoes

imageitem.php.jpg

It's the new year and one of my resoutions does include fitness, to such an extent that I've just signed up to a brand spanking new gym, so I can burn money/calories this new year. Obviously I now need a wardrobe to go with this, so I won't look out of place amongst the lycra lovelies in my graying trackies. These stylish trainers, £19.99 from Dr Shoes would fill that bill nicely, adding a touch of style to my ensemble with their funky graphic prints and plimsoll style shoe. They're on sale too, so you better snap them up quickly.

Silver trainers from Kurt Geiger

kurtgeigershoetrainsilv.jpg
Continuing my new-found love for trainers these silver sneakers from Kurt Geiger are on sale reduced to £59. They would look great teamed with dresses and are perfect for toning down this summer's romantic look but are dressy enough to add some chic to a plain jeans outfit. I feel like with trainers like this on the market I may never wear heels again!

Topshop's black hi-top trainers

topshophi-topblaak.jpg
I haven't really thought about trainers in a good few years, but they suddenly seem little more appealing. This time round I'm lusting after the hi-top styles I used to mock in my youth, how fashion makes a mockery of you!
I like these ones from Topshop, (£60) they're sufficiently generic to be more stylish than a sports brand shoe and are great for adding a tough edge to dresses and skinny jeans.

Casual Friday: Rocket Dog's owl-embellished flats

office-owls.jpgWe love our sexy stilettos and swanky party shoes here at Shoewawa, but by Friday our toes are pining for a pair of comfy flats to see us through the day. While the high street is almost over the owl as a decorative trend, thankfully that happy little creature is still having some fun with our footwear! In a blue shade reminiscent of a clear summer's sky, it's the owl print and brooch embellishment that make these oh-so-adorable. A great pair for casual Friday, they're reduced to £15 in the Office sale.

Nushu double strap trainer from River Island

riv-island.jpg
Currently I'm on a mission to find two pairs of trainers. One of them is a replacement for my beloved gym Nike's, and one is hopefully something smart enough I can wear to the office, but still comfy and cushioning when I slouch around on the weekends. In the Nushu trainer, £44.99 from River Island I think I've found my perfect day shoe, as it's comfy enough to make wearing a pleasure, but smart enough with its nu-buck trim and suede details to be suitable for work. Now I just need to find a workout trainer...
