The rain may be sapping my will to live, but these sweet floral plimsolls give me hope that summer will come again. The design is really fresh and inspiring, with the floral print covering the entirety of this shoe. I like how they've used muted colours rather than brights as that gives the shoes a retro feel, rather than making them overly garish.
You can imagine yourself happily strolling through parks in these, with scruffy shorts and over the knee socks completing the look, and they'd be great for summer festivals.

Put your hands up if your new year's resolution is to join a gym/get fit/lose weight?
Good, that's most of us then. Nothing makes hitting the gym slightly more appealing than a brand new workout wardrobe.
I heart these
Adidas Originals RL Vintage trainers (£54.99) on the right quite a bit, especially the multicoloured logo detail on the heel. The pink soles don't hurt either.
Here are a few more picks to motivate you to hit the treadmill.

There was a time, not so very long ago, when we all felt there was something a bit 'wrong' about heeled trainers. The two concepts simply didn't mix, like (let us not tempt fate) the bright idea of putting a peep-toe in a wellington boot.
But now, the style has reached beyond the exclusive designer set and landed comfortably on the high street, where you can bag yourself a pair of these fashionable (and seriously practical, it turns out) boots at a jolly decent price. New Look brought out a handful of the styles today, including these black and 'mineral haze' (grey) boots, which will add height and a smattering of interest to any everyday jeans outfit.

Just as they did with The Grateful Dead, Converse have teamed up with The Clash to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their hit album, London Calling.
London is literally calling your feet with this range of customised High Top Chuck Taylor's for spring 2010. The collection features white leather versions, as well as black and khaki canvas versions, with special tags and labels that identify the rockers with their record-breaking album.
Remember to keep an eye out for them. They will be released in January 2010.
Angeline Tournier is a fairly new addition to my shop browsing activities, but I'm really impressed with their girly twist on the fairly unglamorous trainer.
These bling-tastic heart trainers on the right are £189. We featured the silver versions back in 2008, which featured a red heart.
Pop them on your Christmas list. After all those Christmas dinners and chocolate treats, you'll need something pretty impressive to persuade you to hit the gym.
They've also got some pretty ballerina flats too, which you can see below.

They might well be the most expensive pair of trainers you'll ever encounter, but even if you still wanted a pair of the Kanye West-designed kicks from Louis Vuitton, the bad news my friend, is you can't. They were on the shelves for a day and they've already sold out! Well, that's the gist of the story anyway...
The Cut blog reckons there has been a waiting list since January, and since they closed that, they have been taking names for a wish list. Which would mean no shoes were ever going to hit the shop floor. Oh well, they're still good to look at and If It's Hip, It's Here has allllll the pics, so head on over there and knock yourself out!

If you were one of those kids at school who always doodled in the margins of your schoolbooks, or who, even now, loves to flex your creative muscle with a bit of fashion DIY, then the sight of these shoes by French blogger Le Navire Valsant will probably ring a few bells (ah, 90s fashion, gotta love it).
Since we're currently seeing something of a revival of this 90s grungy fashion, more and more of this kind of thing is happening again - just lately, I've seen some talented people who have obviously bought a cheap pair of canvas plimsoles and have then gone to town with a Sharpie and come up with some truly unique results. My drawing talent is dodgy at best, so I wouldn't even attempt this, but I'd definitely be interested to know if you do! And if you'd like to send in any pics to show me what you've created, then even better. You can email me on kelly[@]shinymedia.com.
