I'm a bit of a sucker for a 'how to wear high heels' video, so when the Guardian released their own, I just had to share it with you. Shoe expert, Nicole Jackson, puts shoe novice, Sarah Phillips, quite literally through her paces in varying heel heights. They road test an array of designer shoes, working their way up from a pair of four inch Brian Atwood heels, to a scary pair of Victoria Beckham-esque 5.5 inch Christian Louboutin stilettos. Someone has got to tell those people with video cameras at New York Fashion Week that fashion is not just about clothes - what about filming some of the footwear as seen on the runway? And we're not talking just the footwear shown when models fall. One video from New York Fashion Week Fall 2009/10 was from the Jill Stuart show and for all you Jill Stuart shoe fans out there, look forward to wedge heels and only wedge heels with the designer showing wedge heeled sandals with strappy detail in an array of muted pastel and beige colours. A light look for Fall, but we'll definitely have to see more of the shoe collection when it hits stores to make our final judgment.
Beer ads often try to reiterate that men are from Mars and women are from Venus, even if genders are more equal than ever before. Sure this Heineken commercial follows that rule I'll drink what she's drinking in this clip if I get that walk in closet. What woman wouldn't? Just check out all that room for your shoes!
This new video, starring Taylor Momsen, posted all over the blogosphere has left many wondering whether it is really a viral campaign for Nike? The Gossip Girl starlet is seen running away from a barrage of paparazzi before being replaced by a stunt double who pulls some pretty nifty moves in order to escape the throng. But the product placement of a pair of bright blue trainers has got us second guessing. Could Little J be literally be following in Blair Waldorf's footsteps again? I guess only time will tell, XOXO
So we all know that wearing heels can be bad for your posture, back, knees, blah, blah, blah. But we also know that women are never going to stop wearing them. So what's the solution? Dr Legs. And nope that isn't some special form of magic hosiery either. Her real name is Emily Splichal and she appeared on America's Today show on Wednesday to give pointers on how to walk properly in heels. If you get nothing out of this then it's worth it to see Kathie Lee Gifford's 'supermodel face' alone. Click play on video above to watch.
Self-described ping-pong afficinado (and shoe designer!) Stuart Weitzman is challenging you to a tournament. He is hosting an online video contest, in conjunction with Zappos, to search for the 'ultimate fan' to challenge him to a ping pong duel at his New York City showroom.
