Are you ready for a fun/silly video on how to superficially judge a girl by her shoes? Have you ever wanted to know what your shoes "mean" to an on looker? Well whether you wear hooker heels, gold thong sandals, vintage ballet flats, gladiator shoes or trainers, it all apparently means something. Don't forget to take this video with a grain of salt, after all the host's shoes aren't that special or fashionable themselves!
Every time I watch old episodes of Sex and the City, seeing Carrie Bradshaw run around New York has me wondering how Sarah Jessica Parker can keep it up without tripping over. This handy video gives us some great tips on how to do a quick dash from the cab to the front of the queue to the hottest bar in town - or wherever you're running late to. As with most things, running and walking in heels often starts with good posture.
Check out this video from US Elle magazine. Featuring Elle stylist Francesca Mills, she tells us what type of shoes we need to get for spring: patent leather, bright colours, leather, texture, embellishment, and metallic's. It seems that designer shoes are the way to go for Mills who just names brands like Christian Louboutin, Chanel and Dolce & Gabanna so it's not the most helpful clip. I love that she calls her Dior shoes "comfortable and cheap" - yeah sure, when you're borrowing them from the fashion closet.
I love watching videos of shoes being made. After all most shoes are so perfectly made with all their little intricacies, and to have them made in bulk probably requires some super machine. This video takes us into the Moreschi (a Italian designer) factory where we see the carvers carving the shoes by hand, fitting the embellishments, the vast amount of people in one huge factory space and of course the people who come up with the shoe designs.
Most women know that there are some aspects of fashion that men just don't get. In this video, New York magazine takes to the streets to ask men what they think of some of this Spring's shoe styles (some of which I don't necessarily "get" either, it has to be said. Yes, Prada, I'm talking about you again...). Warning: some bad language from the gentlemen in this one, mostly when they're told the price of the shoes!
There are a few health/fitness DVDs available at the moment which teaches you how to walk better and wear heels for longer with confidence, and while I was surfing YouTube I came across this clip by podiatrist and fitness expert Emily Splichal. She explains to us the impact of wearing heels on our feet, calves, knees, backs, chest and neck. There are also some handy hints on exercises to do as prevention and exercises to do to release the day long pressure you build up from wearing heels all day.
Every year we hear about girls racing each other in Europe for prize money, but it's not just any race, the girls must wear high heels above a certain height. I've never seen it in action until now. This video is worth watching us because of the determination of the girl in focus as she runs. If you didn't see her feet you could confuse her as a professional runner. Then to prove some are just in it for the fun, check out the girls barely able to go faster than a trot.
