Summer can be tough if you're not a girly girl. All that flounce and fluff is anathema to anyone who's more Chrissie Hynde than Keira Knightley.
Slip on this pair of snakeskin Candy Says' vintage sandals (£30) with some black skinny jeans or hotpants if it's really warm and take a look at the great outfit pick I've just put together on Catwalk Queen for some fashion inspiration.

Since Yves Saint Laurent passed away a few weeks ago, the demand for his 1968 fall collection has gone through the roof according to WWD. What better time to go hunting for vintage YSL shoes than now? I found these vintage YSL green suede pumps on DorothyandEvelyn.com, picked up from New York City, they're a 1970s style pump and embellished with green sequins. They're not a bad pick up for $199.95AUD (approx USD$192 or £96). They sort of remind me a little of the not-in-style bootie, but unfortunately they are only available in a size 7.

On my morning stroll through the internet I came across Nasty Gal Vintage on Kingdom of Style and they featured this amazing pair of boots.
I don't know if I'd pay $140 for a pair of secondhand boots but if I did these would be top of the list. The coral colour is hot and the triple buckle detail sets them apart from most shoes on the high street.

More interesting than a ballet flat and more versatile than a brogue these red and white shoes have it all. They will be a cute and comfy constant companion over the summer, bringing a subtle dose of masculinity to floaty dresses and skirts and pepping up jeans.
They're $30 from Upside Dive and will stand out from the slew of high street brogues about at the moement. I just wish my feet were a size smaller!

I was first drawn to the oxblood colour of these boots, it's really rich and makes a nice change from tan or brown leather but is less boring than black. Another great thing is they're Bally which means quality leather, good fit and endless durability. Yes it might be a bit late in the season for leather boots but at $24 who's gonna complain?

What a beautiful egg yolk colour these slingbacks have! My mind is already thinking of all the possible dress/tight colour combinations that you could go for: dusky blues, purples and sheer blacks would look great with these slingbacks.
I love the oversized bow which adds to the dolly-effect. They're $32 from Black Raven Vintage and come in a US size 6.

Woven leather still straddles the gross/cool divide quite well, there's something a little mumsy about the little intertwined strips of leather but I would nonetheless be quite happy to include these shoes in my summer wardrobe.
They would add a bit of LA hippy chic to jeans and floral frocks without being too formal or dressed up and the small wedge heel is perfect for everyday wear. If they tickle your fancy snap them up for a super cheap $20 from Pork Chop Girl Vintage.
