Jessica Simpson's 'Percey' wedges in purple and white

jessica-simpson-percey.jpgI wasn't particularly keen on Jessica Simpson's 'Percey' wedges when I first found them on the Zappos website, but they're starting to grow on me. Although these are purple, not blue, for some reason the pattern reminds me of a cloudy summer sky, and that has to be a good thing. Whatever this pattern makes you think of, though, it's definitely different, which could make it a good option for wearing with plainer outfits like jeans or summer dresses. These are $93 at available from Zappos.

Jones Bootmaker's beige 'Calais' wedges

jones-bootmaker-wedges.jpgAlmost every time I visit the Jones Bootmaker website, I find myself wondering why it is I don't visit more often. Take these 'Calais' wedges, for instance: I love the high heel and Mary Jane style strap, but most of all, I love that almost-nude beige shade, which will work with absolutely everything. The style is also really versatile, and you'd be able to wear them to work or dress them down for the weekends. They've also just been reduced in the sale from £70 to £35 - what more could you want?

Cherry print wedge plimsolls by Punkrose Shoes

cherry_print_plimsolls.jpgThere are few things more retro than a pair of cherry print plimsolls, so it'll come as no surprise to you to learn that these ones come from that melting pot of all things retro, Pin Up Girl Clothing. The label is Punkrose Shoes, and I particularly like the addition of the small wedge heel, which will make these much more flattering to the leg than regular plimsolls, as well as giving your foot a bit of support. They're yours for $36.

Esko natural patent leather cork wedges

esko cork wedges.jpgThe chunkiness of these sandals won't be to everybody's taste, but I tend to go for cork wedges that are almost big enough to serve as pinboards, and these certainly meet that criteria!

While the angle of the wedge looks like it would result in some seriously flattering leg-lift, the slatted T-bar is a fun, classic shape. And check out the wonderful sheen on that leather: It's unusual to see a natural tone in patent, and it makes a lovely contrast against the matte finish of the cork. £162.25 at Forzieri

Vagabond 'Laser' shoe

vagabond floral wedge sandal.jpg
Florals are still going strong well into this season but the savvy fashion fan is wearing them with a punky edge. Vagabond's low wedge sandals combine a cute floral print with '80s retro tough, perfect teamed with denim jackets, flouncy skirts and a pair of shades for an up-to-the-minute summer look.

Snap them up for £39.99, the sturdy rubber sole and leather upper means you can wear these into autumn with a pair of socks and skinny jeans.

Bargain Tuesday: Spot espadrilles from Matalan

spot-espadrilles.jpgEspadrilles tend to get a bit of a mixed reaction here at Shoewawa: some of you absolutely hate them, while others think they're more or less a summer essential. Just for that second group then, these spot espadrilles from Matalan come in red or black, and the polka dot pattern helps make them suitably summery. They're only £10, too, which is a pretty good deal, especially given the limited opportunities to wear summer shoes here in the UK!

Faith's 'Hipplie' wedges - Claudia Schiffer likes them, but do you?

faith-hipplie-wedges.jpgAccording to the Faith website, Claudia Schiffer was recently spotted buying a pair of their £45 'Hipplie' wedges. These look like a fairly standard pair of cork-soled wedges to me, although there's no denying that shoes like these always come in handy during the summer season, but clearly Claudia found something special about them - I'm just wondering whether you will? If you do, these are also available in white. What do you think of them?
