Pretty in Pink: our pick of the best pink shoes

officeshoessuedepink.jpgThe common sense side of my brain is telling me that these Office Slip It On shoes are a seriously impractical purchase for the next few months. They're suede, so they're destined to be destroyed by the onslaught of Autumn rain. They're bright pink, so they're not going to go with much of my, primarily green and purple, wardrobe. I have a feeling my feet would look a little choked in the high cut ankle design too. Plus the likelihood of me losing the ability to walk normally after an hour in these is pretty low

That's the common sense side of my brain though. The shopping side of my brain is screaming to me that I need these shoes. The cute bow on the back. The unusual cut of the edges making it perfect for skinny jeans! The gorgeous cheery colour! Did I mention the cute bow on the back? I really want these shoes, and I definitely have an opening for a bright pink suede shoe-boot in my collection.

They're £68 and also come in black if you're not feeling the pink ones.

It's not the only pair of pink shoes I've got my eye on at Office though...

Burberry chain-embellished wellington boots

burberry_chain_wellies.jpg

So Glastonbury has been and gone, but there are still some UK festivals coming up in the near future (Bestival, Reading, Leeds and the V Festivals to name just a few). Which means, even though right now we're in the middle of a heatwave (ooh, I just love saying that), the potential for a festival mud bath is still very real. And when festival mud baths are on the horizon, you will still be needing some good old wellies to get you through.

We showed you personalised wellies and we showed you colourful wellies, and now we've got some more designer boots for you to either lust over and then close the window regretfully, or lust over and then just bite the bullet and purchase them. These Burberry gumboots have a glossy shine finish and are embellished with a gold chain trim for a very "glamorous-down-on-the-farm" look. If that's the look you're after this festival season, you can pick them up from Net-a-Porter for £225.

Celebs wear the Jimmy Choo Hunter wellington boot at Glastonbury

jimmy_choo_wellies_glasto_celebs.jpg

When Kim wrote about these Jimmy Choo wellington boots for Hunter back in January, there was no doubt in my mind we would be seeing celebrities galore wearing them come Glastonbury festival-revelling time - even with the crazy $395 pricetag. Not to sound too smug or anything, but... I was right.

Pixie Geldof, Jo Whiley (both pictured above) and model Naomi Campbell were just three festival-goers who were spotted wearing the embossed croc-detail boots over the weekend. Obviously people are still very prepared to fork out these kinds of sums in a recession for a pair of good old gumboots - apparently demand was so high they had to create a waiting list on the Jimmy Choo website!

Ultimate festival chic: Swarovski crystal diamanté personalised wellies

swarowski welly wellie diamante festival boot.jpg

From our fashion sister site Catwalk Queen...

Jester hats, patterned wellies and pink stetsons were safe choices for attention-seeking festival wear but now there's something a little more girly that would make even Paris Hilton consider a trip to Worthy Farm.

High maintenance festival goers and those of you would actually describe yourselves as 'glampers' can now stand out from the crowd in style with a pair of Swarovski crystal personalised diamanté wellies. Wellie Art suggest putting your name, or marital status but there are so many better things you could write than 'Bride'. You could pick the name of your favourite band, make up a name for your gang of festival friends or add the name and year of the festival as a souvenir. If you're planning to really let your hair perhaps left and right will suffice!

Hunter Original for WaterAid wellington boots

hunter_wateraid_wellies.jpg

Glastonbury is approaching at a very rapid rate and although I am not making it out there this year (it's Benicàssim this year for me, yay), I know plenty of you are. Thus, you will most likely be looking to stock up on wellies and ponchos along with your trilbys and your sunglasses...

This year the people at Hunter (renowned for being *the* gumboot of choice by celebs and festival veterans alike) have teamed up with international charity WaterAid to raise money for a great cause. A percentage of the profits made from the sale of each pair of their special water drop wellies (£75) will go towards clean water, sanitation and hygiene education for communities in Madagascar.

You will not only have some cool-as waterproof footwear to wear to Glasto, but you'll also be doing something good for peeps who aren't quite as lucky as us. Warm fuzzies all round!
